Does it get any better

That was the replay of the tie that Donald Trump drew for us. I went to the first game and it was quite possibly the dullest game I've ever been to. Does anyone know why the replay was more than a month after the first game?

Funnily enough I thought about Stuart Ripley yesterday when the train I was on passed Twerton Park. I remembered the time he got sent off there when we played Bristol Rovers.
 
One of my favourite players ever, Stuey Ripley. What a powerful lad.
Could have it with anyone who fancied trying to get physical, too. I think he surprised a few bruisers, over the years.

First game was the first game of football I went to. I was on the Glebe road terrace with my younger brother. Posh beat Liverpool in the previous round and we missed out on tickets for that one.

The original date for the replay was iced off. I just left school and was working in Peterborough at the time and one of my colleagues took the afternoon off to go up for it.

Happy days.

Wasn’t there a story behind the guy in the mask.. I’m sure he was under a police curfew or had a football banning order so wore the mask to disguise himself.. but at one point got too excited and took it off when the cameras were on him and got busted!!

That may all be a load of rubbish mind 🤔
 
I came up for the match with a mate. I think the Holgate was sold out as I had to get a ticket for the seats behind the goal. My mate couldn't get in as he didn't have a membership card so I left him in the Empire!

I went to the semi final second leg at Old Trafford. I can still picture Pally clearing the ball just before it went in from a Bernie shot. Giggs was unplayable that night. Great days.

Remember those games! Had no idea why Rippers was sent off. Posh had produced a ‘souvenir’ programme at the extortionate price of £2. I don’t think they sold many.

My favourite Boro youtube clip. We were brilliant.
There's a close up of a Ripley run (about 1 minute in) that looks like it has been choreographed for a movie.
And that Falconer header / Schmeichel save in extra time still upsets me.

Didn’t Ripley get a fine for punching and damaging the door in the Twerton Park dressing room? I’m sure it was to do with an altercation with Geoff Twentyman, he retaliated to something. I’m pretty sure he talked about it at a Junior Reds meeting not long after.
