I've just seen some clips of Eamonn's "exclusive" interview with the insufferable Dan Wootton on GB News last night and it is absolutely hysterical.

It's straight from the Alan Partridge playbook, it can't be genuine, can it?

It could literally be Partridge talking about his vendetta with Noel Edmonds. It's so bad - it's absolutely magnificent.

Eamonn doing the populist bandwagonning is hardly surprising. It’s his schtick because he’s thick
 
I really don’t understand why this is such big news (well as of yet anyway).

Bloke on morning tv has relationship with legally aged teen, there is no evidence anything happened before it legally could is there? It happens up and down the country all the time. Yes the age gap is large, but does anyone bat an eyelid at Mick Jagger and his young ladies for example? I presume the timing is unfortunate given Schofields brothers life and the media regurgitated this older PS story after a bit more digging. I am sure nobody really thinks daytime tv is full of fluff and all lovey-dovey.

This cult of celebrity is media driven to create a false narrative of reality, they build people up while the money rolls in then when things start to change, they love to knock them down as soon as they can. I know the odd so called showbiz celebrity or two (as will a good few on here no doubt), their 15 minutes of fame are lower key nowadays or up out of choice in one case because of the way others often blew smoke up their own backsides when a big break occurs etc.

One said the world of showbiz is riddled with the 7 deadly sins and you need your wits about you 24/7, I don’t really care what anyone does providing its legal. I certainly don’t want peoples tawdry love lives and other various skeletons played out on my tv or media outlets. All these outraged people would do well to keep their own skeleton cupboard under lock and key, we all have our own skeletons of sorts after all.

Whilst that it is entirely possible, is that proven or mere internet driven guesswork at this stage?

There is the one clip referring to him “If he’s still getting away with it in 3 years he’ll be a happy man” which does him absolutely no favours of course, but we can’t be certain of the context it was said in. However, if anyone has evidence he did groom the bloke when under age, I hope they come forward and involve the police etc. Were that to happen, then fair do’s it should be investigated and he should be dealt with under the full weight of the law, as should anyone who knew and did nothing about it too. But, until then, if it was as portrayed by Schofield, tawdry but legal then so what 🤷‍♂️

You really don't understand why it is news?
It isn't just about just a 61 year old person having a relationship with a much younger person. That wouldn't be big news.

Schofield's high profile, his (previous) image as a family man of integrity and virtue, the speculation of bullying, his resignation from his job, the ramifications for ITV as a whole, the future of his co-star, the fact that his popularity was starting to fall after queue-gate. That makes it a big news item.

In any case, take away the hyperbole, speculation and typical media sensationalism and you are left with a TV presenter with lots of influence befriending a child, giving them a job as his runner and finally starting a (legal) sexual relationship with them. He lied about all of this.

I think that raises concerns and justifies further investigation. It has the hallmarks of grooming. As it turns out, the media seem to be better at these investigations than either his former employers or the police.


Also, I'm not aware of any examples of Mick Jagger in a similar scenario, though I might be wrong.
However I do know that plenty of eyelids were batted when Jagger's band mate Bill Wyman married Mandy Smith. Maybe not as much as they would be today but it didn't exactly go unnoticed.

Col A better anology would be richard branson meeting a child at 15 giving him/her a job at virgin then when they turned 18 shagging him or her then lying to hr about a relationship . I cant see why you think thats acceptable.

Phillip Schofield followed Matthew on twitter (Matthew had only just turned 15 years old, 5 days earlier (d.o.b: 21 March 1996), he had NOT asked Phil to follow him).

Phil came out as gay 7 Feb, then a post was leaked from the WhatsApp group chat TLS Boys, this is a chat for staff working on ITV productions (TLS stands for ‘The London Studio’). It was posted by a Lighting electrician Miles Gilby aka: ‘Myles’ Gilby.

It said:
Fresh off the press – The Truth about The
Coming Out Party. Truth is Schofa been
shagging a runner on the This Morning set
reportedly looking no older than 12 (no it’s
not me), ****ed him over so he said he’s
gonna go to the press. So had to come
out publicly. Phillip you dirty old hog!



That's the timeline of events

It might be legal but it's very weird. I'm sure this isn't the last we will hear of it or of other situations.
