For the Hartlepool Reserves game on 29 Sept 1973, that evening's newspaper report on Newcastle's game at St James Park describes the day as "wet and extremely windy". Having said that, these are the highlights of the game on Youtube and it doesn't look that wet!

It doesn't look that wet and windy at all. An interesting watch, both teams would be slated for the defending nowadays.
