Off to Edinburgh next week to see Springsteen, unfortunately the trains are on strike on the day we due home(Wednesday 31st). We can't stay another night as we must be home on 1st June.
Any of you good folk know the best way back using buses? National Express and Megabuses are sold out , so its just gonna be a regular bus service. Thank you.

X10 with Go North East goes from Eldon Square Bus Station in Newcastle to Stockton High Street. Service runs once an hour.

Am sure there will be buses that go from Edinburgh to Newcastle.

I assume you drive, wouldn't it be easier to drive up and ask for a refund on your train tickets due to the train strike?

By the time the concert finishes the local bus service will not run far enough for you, the only option would be wait for the first train the next day or drive.

The concert is on Tuesday so I think the OP is staying in Edinburgh overnight and wanting to come back Wednesday morning/afternoon.

During the last strike there was still trains running just not as frequent. We travelled to Birmingham on various networks and arrived bang on time.
Got trains back from London on strike days as well.
Check the LNER website.

Concert is on the 30th, coming home next day Redinburgh

They will announce the revised timetables in a couple of days, usually a good few trains still run, might be waiting to see the new timetable once released

Sorry, it's only round the corner from me, should have read your post properly.

As has been said you might be a few trains running but they will only be advertised at the last minute

All sorted now guys, getting Nat. Express Edinburgh to Darlo then my daughter is picking us up from there. The Nat.Express website said it was sold out
but Thanks to Norman Conquest was put onto Busbud. Thanks very much everyone, LOVE this forum!

I went on the mainline during the last strike and it was great to be honest, there was loads of seats etc. The strikes put people off more than the trains reductions reduced seat numbers.

This probably isn't the case all the time mind.

I'm in a similar position. Had a train booked back to Leeds thats now been cancelled. Mate has now booked another train that takes us back to Leeds but we have to go via Doncaster. Not sure which line it is that we are going back on as my mate booked it but might be worth having a look on Trainline. Even if you can get to Newcastle you can get a bus from there. As others have said there will be some trains running it's just a case of hoping you get lucky with yours not being cancelled.
