Edinburgh to Stockton help needed.

I've also seen him a few times but was put off by the price of the tickets. I wish I had gotten them now.
I know mate, they certainly sting you for tickets. It'll probably be the last time we see him so we just thought to hell with it. Getting excited about it now!!!

We are still going up on the train on Tuesday - staying over after the concert but have now booked a hire car to drive back - one way dropping off in Stockton. Claiming back £90 on train tickets and car is £125 plus petrol. About as good as we could see

I'm seeing him for the first time, can't wait. Got a hotel in Dunfermline for the drive up north for a few days and am parking at Ingleston or Hermiston early on and getting the tram in.

Reports are that he will start at 7.30pm and play for about 3 hours. No support act.

All sorted now guys, getting Nat. Express Edinburgh to Darlo then my daughter is picking us up from there. The Nat.Express website said it was sold out
but Thanks to Norman Conquest was put onto Busbud. Thanks very much everyone, LOVE this forum!
Glad you got sorted. It will be a long trip back but worth it

Enjoy the gig everyone here today. We’re certainly not “waitin’ on a sunny day”.

It’s been a cracking couple of days up here.
We were drinking in the Ox (Oxford bar) last night, John Rebus’ local. The clientele were very friendly and welcoming. Did the Real Mary King’s Close tour this morning and took a stroll down Fleshmarket Close just off of the Royal Mile. Now in the stadium awaiting the for Boss himself to make his grand appearance.

Mmm - definitely a concert for the purists. Lots of grey haired men nodding sagely to huge guitar , drum , keyboard and brass solos as ‘the boss’ cracked out a lot of his less familiar songs from his back catalogue. If you are a really massive fan this was manna from heaven - the songs you listened to on vinyl all those years ago. Where I was sat quite a few folk looked a bit dare I say it ‘bored’ with the first 2/3rds - you didn’t get any of his major hits till the last 40 mins really. Personally can’t fault the guy at 72 giving a full on non stop 3 hours. I really enjoyed it, I am one of those with all his albums on vinyl and sang my heart out to songs like Mary’s Place but most folk would only know maybe 2 or 3 songs (excluding the two covers) from the first 22 songs he did ahead of the encore and those would be the last two . The encore was where the popular well known classics came in and hopefully sent everyone home with a smile. Not sure if we will see him touring again but his voice was still amazing but if that was it it went out with a bang for me. £8 for a can of crappy Tennents lager was not great like.

Interesting, can't wait until the 26th now.

I wouldn't call myself a huge fan of his but there would definitely be enough to hold my attention throughout. Five from Darkness... not to be sniffed at either.

I wouldn't call that setlist "obscure album filler" either. Some very well known and loved tunes in there. A bit generous calling "Because The Night" a Patty Smith cover, he co-wrote the song!

Looking forward to seeing him at Villa Park, he rarely plays the same set twice so it will be substantially different there I'm sure. Saw "young" (relatively) Jake Clemons with his band at the Cluny in that there Newcastle who is well worth seeing in his own right.

Who described the set as ‘obscure album filter’? Classic album tracks rather than popular singles would be a better description. My point is I’m not sure how many attending will have listened to those albums recently, mainly his early stuff and know the tracks to sing along to Also the set list not me describes Because the Night as a ‘Patti Smith Group cover’ - I think everyone knows Springsteen wrote it.
