EFL statement ref Derby (updates)

No way is this the fans fault and I will be gutted for them if they fold. However, they and Sheffield Wed cheated to gain a competitive advantage and got caught. Their Chairmen/CEO are to blame for the mess they are in, just like Amer was to blame for the terrible situation we found ourselves in. We got lucky, a new start and I hope they get the same for their fans sake. If anything, going into liquidation gave us a new impetus that was as exciting as anything, apart from the UEFA run and League Cup, for as long as I have been a fan.

Yes, you are right, but my point is that just about every English League club will be relying on a rich owner to pay the wages (and everything else) during the Covid crisis. Derby are no different except in the respect that their problems are being reported in the media. Steve Gibson will presumably have funded Boro by about £30 million by the year end in June. The FFP rules have no relevance when every club is breaking them. I'd guess they'll have to change the regs or give everyone a year off until there are fans allowed back.
They've already changed the ffp rules for covid. from the Independent...

The EFL’s regulations have been updated to include a clause permitting its clubs – in the Championship, League One and League Two – to exclude “Covid-19 costs” for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons from their reported expenditure.

Appendix five of the regulations now includes factoring in “lost revenues and/or exceptional costs incurred by a club that are directly attributable to the Covid-19 pandemic and that are identified and calculated in accordance with such guidance as issued by the board”.

I know some will say the article linked above is "only the daily mail" but they have been amongst the first to report correctly and before official statements,
The EFL appeal verdict
The Keogh verdict
The takeover being off.

Potentially, they are being given information from withing the club.

Looking very bleak

Welcome to LIVE coverage of Derby County from DerbyshireLive. We will be keeping you up to date with all the latest from Pride Park on our rolling coverage below.

Wayne Rooney's side survived relegation to League One by virtue of their 3-3 draw with Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United's 1-1 draw with Cardiff City.

However, there is still plenty to be sorted out off the pitch at Pride Park after the EFL won an appeal against a Financial Fair Play ruling relating to the Rams.

The EFL hit the Rams with two charges in January last year, the first relating to the sale of Pride Park and the second regarding the amortisation of players' contracts during their time at the club.

Both charges were dismissed in August but the EFL successfully appealed the decision on the second charge.

Derby must now wait to find out exactly what action will be taken against them as a result.

It was also announced on Tuesday that Richard Keogh had won his compensation claim against the Rams following his sacking in 2019.

And it appears the proposed takeover of the club by Erik Alonso is now off.

Bowyer leaves Rams

Gary Bowyer has left Derby County to become manager of Salford City on a permanent basis.

Bowyer took up the role of professional development phase coach at the Rams' Academy ahead of the 2020-21 season.

But the 49-year-old was drafted in by Salford on a temporary deal in March following the departure of Richie Wellens.

Fresh twist in Derby County takeover as director resigns

Documents filed at Companies House show that Tajinderpal Sumal has stepped down as a director of No Limits Sports, the vehicle through which he and Erik Alonso were due to buy Derby

"......Now it has emerged that a director of the company that was set to buy the Rams, No Limits Sports, has resigned from its board......"

Poor lambs.....

It never ceases to amaze me how Derby’s fans are looking to blame another club and its fans for the mess that their owner created and subsequently compounded by breaching rules. If I were a Derby fan I would be on Morris’s case 100%, not Gibson‘s or Boro fans. They are clearly as daft as their owner, Morris led Derby to troubled waters by trying to steal an advantage through his actions, that is the issue, not the complainant who outed them in the first place. He damn nearly got away with it too, thankfully the ‘integrity‘ of the EFL may have won the day, albeit via the backdoor at the 11th hour.

It baffels me. So few of them actually see how poorly their club has been run and blame Gibbo and the EFL for their situation. Hope we are away to Derby in one of first few fixtures 😂😂😂

The two fixtures lists show how serious the EFL are about wanting them relegated.

I do feel bad for Wycombe as the agony continues.
I'm not expecting any deduction to be for last season, so they'll have a bit of hope that they're still staying up that will be ripped away from them.
