Energy price cap raising to £2800

Do some digging on Google. There are so w excellent articles from debt relief sites, charities and the common man and woman too.
They very rarely do it anyway, much easier to just get a warrant to enter the property and force fit a smart prepayment meter, that way you have to pay your debt as you top it up at a set rate.

Your energy is also more expensive on prepayment so it won't really get you far unless you have alternate energy / heating methods

And bye bye credit rating as you'll have lots of defaults on file by then.

So yeah, don't just not pay your bill expecting to have 3 years of not paying or anything as definitely not that simple

We need to take direct action on a national scale. Blockading petrol stations, mass protests, millions changing energy providers weekly to crash their systems, protesting outside senior executives houses of companies charging a fortune, protesting outside Tory MP's homes...

We need to bring the country to a halt so this heartless Government takes action. All they are interested in is increasing growth in the economy - if we stop them being able to do that they will take action. Stop trains, stop trucks. Now is the time to act!! Yes, these actions might increase prices in the short term but something will have to give. Prices are going up anyway. The whole country needs to take a leaf out of Extinction Rebellion's book - that's how you protest and get things noticed.

Or we can sit back and do nothing and just hope they grow a conscience...

Court warrants take time to get, even more so now with the backlog caused by covid shutting everything down.

As others have mentioned though, a mass movement is required, the way things are going simply isn't sustainable.

Court warrants take time to get but they will get them, messing up your credit rating for then next 5 years and paying several hundred quid more a year and having the inconvenience of managing a prepayment meter to boot probably isn't really high in many peoples agendas as a conscious choice, or at least it shouldn't be. I agree that action is needed as don't see how people can continue to afford this, but stopping paying your bills won't get you anything other than a mountain of debt.

Anyone struggling should already be contacting their providers and citizens advise etc

I fear for pensioners, even more so when winter comes. Give it a few months when the red bills come out and the bailiffs are working overtime. My heating has been off for a month now, what sad times we are living in. But hey we have a new underground in that there London Town, so all is good in the Capital.

I got an email off my energy company asking me if i want to sign up to their solar package. Why would an energy company want me to install solar panels as they would make barely any money from me?

You sell your surplus power to them and they sell it on for a much higher price. They also make money n the installation. Say you pay £10k and it costs them £8k. They borrow @ 3% so offering interest free say over 3 years cost them about £450.
