Euro 2020 tickets

I think there will be dignateries present and the teams need to change and most of all it needs all the tv facilities, that's going to the priority for UEFA now. Boro had to upgrade to over 30 camera points when we were promoted to the Premier - at different angles and elevations. They would need to hire a lot of cranes if there was no stadium.
Right now it still seems a big ask, even without fans. But maybe in several months time everyone involved playing wise and officials wise and reporters etc might have been vaccinated and not just taken tests.

Haven't seen this posted, but forgive me it has already been mentioned.

Basically, UEFA is making us take a decision on our tickets before we even know if the games will take place.

I have tickets to two games in Dublin and paid £300 at the time. Have no idea what to do as I can't afford to lose so much money but was also really looking forward to the games.

Decisions, decisions
I have semi final Wembley tickets and don’t see any issue, the game will go ahead with limited capacity. If i don’t get chosen then I get a full refund. If I do then great.
The chances of a move away from Wembley are slim as it’s a 90k stadium.
Covid cases will be minimal by then, middle of summer and half the country will be vaccinated.
There is very little risk of the game being moved away from Wembley!

I’ve read the new refund policy. Is it me but I can’t see a change. If you can’t go to the game you get a refund.

They changed the terms and conditions on Thursday.
No refunds for fans who are unable to attend games shifted to different stadia. 26 January is refund deadline.
With games being played all over Europe you could have tickets for two matches one of which could be switched a 1000 miles away from the first. Or tickets for one match that might be switched from Bilbao to Dublin or vice versa. You might have accommodation and travel arranged for one city etc but not the other.

That’s my understanding.

Ticket returns
If you disagree with any of the changes, you can return your tickets for a full refund of the ticket price from now until 26 January 2021 14:00 CET, by logging into your account at euro2020.com/tickets

Or hang on to them and

Stadium capacity restrictions and refunds

In the event UEFA has to cancel your ticket order(s) as a result of a stadium capacity reduction or as a result of the match having to be played ‘behind closed doors’, the refund policy now specifies that you will be entitled to receive a full refund of your ticket price.

The refund policy also now specifically refers to a ‘pandemic’ in the definition of force majeure.

Apologies Rob..you are correct:

If UEFA notifies the Successful Applicant that their Ticket(s) is valid for the re-scheduled venue for the Match then where the change of venue was made for:
(a) any reason of Force Majeure, no refunds shall be made; or
(b) any reason other than Force Majeure, the Successful Applicant shall be entitled to cancel their Ticket(s) and request a refund equal to the amount of the face value of the Ticket(s) if the Successful Applicant is unable, or opts not, to attend the rearranged playing of the Match.

This sounds confusing. So if the game remains at the original venue but we are not allowed to enter then full refund? If it gets switched to a country where you can watch it you wont? That sounds horrendous underhand business practice.

What are the chances of switching countries to a ground where spectators are allowed in Europe if the pandemic is still raging. Mind you it wouldnt surprise me if UEFA do a deal with some state to save them millions in refunds.

Anyone made a decision, only five days left?

I'm starting to think no option but to just get a refund. Chances of attending a professional football match anywhere in Europe between now and June are I'd say slim to zero.

I agree, same here. I was hoping that there would be some fan protest type of pressure. But it is very difficult to get at UEFA - we do have the address of the UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin if anyone writes a good letter. He wrote back last time.

I imagine the protest will simply be in the form of mass refund requests.

I don't know why they don't just say now that it'll be behind closed doors. Glastonbury cancelled, Tokyo Olympics have already said spectators will be significantly reduced. And these are single venue type events.

I assume the Killers gig at the Riverside will soon be canned too!

Looks like there has been an update to the terms as below, going to keep my tickets for the 2 games I have in Budapest.

In the event that a UEFA EURO 2020™ match is moved to a venue which is more than 50km away from the original venue, ticket buyers would be entitled to a full refund of the ticket price if they cannot, or do not wish to, attend.

Yes I was going to say there has been a new update.

“There has been no change to the ‘change of venue’ part of the Refund Policy as the original version already allowed for this. The ‘change of venue’ provisions specifically rely on whether UEFA say the ticket is valid for the re-scheduled venue for the match and UEFA would take into account matters such as reasonable travelling distances from the original venue when making that determination.”
Update 1: On 20th January, UEFA amended its FAQs to say that if a "match is moved to a venue which is more than 50 km (31 miles) away from the original venue, ticket buyers would be entitled to a full refund of the ticket price if they cannot or do not wish to attend."

Update 2: On 20th January, the ticket portal on the UEFA website issued users who had just returned their tickets with the following prompt: "If you change your mind about returning your tickets, you can cancel your return by clicking here."

UEFA clarified that, under the amended refund policy and the current ticket returns period, refunds will be issued under the following circumstances:

  • An individual returns their ticket before 26th January 2021.
  • A game is to be played behind closed doors.
  • The capacity of the respective stadium is reduced, and tickets have thus been invalidated by UEFA.
NO change in the venue part of the agreement as
Football Supporters Europe understand the following:-
It is our understanding, then, that should a game be moved from one host city to another of the current EURO 2020 host cities, all ticket buyers should be eligible for a refund.

FSE further expects that, if UEFA is forced to reschedule a game to a different date, time, or venue, ticket buyers will be offered the choice of keeping their allocated ticket or applying for a full refund.
