Everton

I honesly do not get the thinking of Everton.

Why do they constantly persist in trying to get a big foreign Manager in thinking that's the right way to go for them?

A Sean Dyche and dare I say it Wilder (hence why he was such a coup for us) would be more than ideal for Everton.

So now not only are they still making mistakes they're now reverting back to the same mistakes and trying to get Managers they've sacked previously. - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60027321

The way it's looking Everton could go the same way as Sunderland.

Because, and I like Everton because I despise their gobshite neighbours, they've got it in their heads they're still one of the big boys and should be competing with the top 6 teams in the country like they did in the 80's - they think attracting fancy managers is the way to demonstrate that.

I got friends who are Everton fans and look out for their results so I'm not attacking them as such.

Just find what they're doing baffling, it's almost like they're trying to break into top 6 without applying too much of a plan behind it.

Yes exactly this as they think they are competing with Spurs when they are closer Crystal Palace.

Mr Jumpers said they think they are competing with the top 6, not Spurs.

It's possible to dislike them both you know. I know I do.

Sam Allardyce kept them up.
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but they havefound out the grass isn't always greener on the other side.
Allowing Benitez to let Digne go to Villa as they didn't get on - then sacking him the next day - seems to smack of a kneejerk reaction to the defeat at Norwich

It would be great for English football if they were relegated as it would shatter this idea that no side is too good to go down.

plus it would be interesting to see how well they would cope in a lower league now that their cloak of invincibility had gone.

look at Coventry to see how easy a side can fall from its lofty position and slip into a period of mediocrity and inertia.

Everton have an obscenely wealthy owner who takes advice on how to run his club from Kia Joorabchian, and still hasn't realised that Kia might not be the true-toffee-with-a-heart-of-gold that he makes himself out to be.

Blackburn Newcastle and Everton would all of been better had those clubs not thought they we’re ultimately too good for him .

That’s not the real owner

Absolutely. And he pays them £12m every year so that his holding company which has no reason to advertise itself can sponsor some fields in Halewood, which is all totally legit and in no way breaching FFP.

Wimbledon kept them up in the early 90's when on the final day of the season leading 2-0 at Goodison Park with Everton in the bottom 3 & going down bottled it, losing 3-2 & survival for Everton 😔

That was a lucky escape. With 9 mins left they were down before Graeme Stuarts winner. Sheff United were relegated after conceding in the last minute at Stamford Bridge.

It was also a lucky time for Wimbeldon's goalkeeper on that day, who a few days later found £19,000 to deposit into a hidden Swiss bank account
Everton should definitely have been relegated that season.
I have hoped they go down since then.
There are other reasons why I want their supporters to go down into oblivion; my cousin still bears the scars.
Their last few years have been a very messy car crash, but compelling viewing.

Was your cousin slashed at one of the replays?

I can remember after one of the cup games coming out of the ground and as we headed towards our car the lad in front of me got slashed and the lad behind me. It was only the movement of his arm that he got every second person.
