Has anyone paid attention to testing? Red Bull might challenge Mercedes more consistently and McLaren have looked strong with a unique diffuser design. If McLaren are onto something expect it to be banned within a few races!

That said, it's likely to be another dominant Mercedes and Hamilton claiming a record 8 titles.

I haven't really been following testing but if McLaren are looking strong that makes me happy. How are they compared to Alpine and Aston? Given they are all close rivals last year (albeit under different names!)

But I would like Lewis to win another world championship. Although I fear he could win ten in a row and still get the bizarre criticism he gets from some quarters

He iS In the quICKEst CaR

For all of these rumours that red bull have caught up, im fully expecting Hamilton to have a 5 second lead by the second lap. Shame the rule changes have been pushed back a season, think this will be identical to last season

Last season was boring, this season will be boring.

Next season could be interesting.

I look forward to Lewis setting an unbeatable record though. 💪

Hard to tell, but apparently McLaren have the edge over both. Wait and see over the weekend though.

McLaren now powered by mercedes, most the budget (tokens) has gone on the engine deal Lando said in an interview

McLaren could even challenge Red Bull, are some of the things I've read over the past few weeks.
They've always had great handling cars but have struggled with engines since leaving Mercedes last time. Now they are back with them it could be a special season for them, Danny Ric or Lando could even won a race for them.

It's been a strange time for McLaren. They've gone full circle after stopping using Mercedes engines years ago. They must have thought Honda would immediately bring performance but it took them four years by which time McLaren were using Renault.

Yeah it's amazing how something can just not work. And shows the fine margins in the sport. At the time of the Honda deal, Honda had a long and illustrious history of supplying formula 1 engines. True it's works team didn't work out until it had a Mercedes engine in it! But as a supplier they have usually done OK. And McLaren were the most successful team of all time in terms of win ratio. The fact it went bad, and SO bad is a shock. It's good to see them return to the correct end of the paddock.

To think they were Peugeot powered at one point, it's a shame the likes of BMW and Toyota pulled out of the Sport (and more recently Honda), as it doesn't leave the custom teams with much of a choice. Did I hear right Red Bull are going to now produce their own engines?

Just googled Jaguar didn't even use Jaguar engines, you forget Red Bull is now what was that team

Just checked Indy Car and they only have 2 Engine Suppliers Honda & Chevrolet. Interesting to see 13 of the 17 races are now on Street or Raceways rather than Oval. When you had C.A.R.T. and Indy Car they were nearly all Oval rounds

I genuinely cannot wait as this year throws up so many questions.

Will Bottas push Hamilton or will he remain looking average in comparison?
Can Red Bull get closer to Mercedes?
Can Max finish higher than Bottas and even challenge Hamilton?
How will Perez do in the Red Bull, can he perform as well as Max?
Aston Martin, Mclaren or Alpine - who will perform the best?
What on earth will happen with Ferrari this year?
LeClerc versus Sainz is very interesting as is Norris versus Ricciardo.
Can Stroll and Vettel work together?
Is Mick Schumacher the next superstar in the making or are we simply excited by his surname?
How will Tsunoda and Mazepin perform?
Will Gasly make Christian Horner sit up and take notice at all?
Can Williams finish ahead of Haas? How about finishing ahead of Alpha Tauri and Alfa Romeo?

Correct about Red Bull. They're talking about manufacturing their own engines.

The seemingly poor performance in testing by Mercedes certainly gives hope that we might get a battle for the title this year. Testing is notoriously difficult to analyse though, and we will not really know what the relative performance is until they get started properly.

I'm looking forward to it.

Just watching Drive to Survive now the way Red Bull terminated Pierre Gasly's contract don't we see exactly the same thing/pressure again with Alex Albon, the team wanting two Max Verstappen's in the race seats?

Look what happened with Vettel and Webber will we see similar scenes this year with Max and Perez or will Perez get no where near Max's pace?

Interesting that Verstappen, Albon, Gasly, Ocon and Leclerc were all cart racing in the same year.

Think Mercedes have been purposely slow myself.
Red Bull even alluded to it aswell after looking at all the team's testing times. I'd seen an article published for a Dutch newspaper bit can't find it anymore.
