Fao rob or anyone what the boro policy re vapes

Also while vaping in public isn't banned by law, it often is on a policy basis. You can't vape in a lot of pubs I've been in, believe it's banned in all Wetherspoons. You can't vape in most airports airport or bus terminal, on the underground, most trains etc for the same reasons - it may not be harmful but people don't want to be around it.

We had someone bust one out in the seat next to us on a megabus ffs, as if the train being sold out wasn't bad enough. Luckily the driver sorted her out after a big argument and she was made to get off at the next stop as refused to stop doing it.

Vaping is not smoking. I understand why some ‘decent fans’ fans might have an issue, but there does seem to be an over reaction on here. I am more concerned with the sniff heads, idiots wanting to get into fights and the blokes who had a skin full of Tetley Imperial and a curry the night before and proceed to blow stinky farts throughout the match!! How about people who swear in front of kids or those that stand a lot at the match? Actually why not just ban people.
I agree with the stinky fart issue, I blame the hipsters. The one sat in front of me must fill up on craft beer and gluten free sour dough before every match before nearly blowing his twirly mustache and round specs off. I'd be glad to get a whiff of vanilla lemon tooth floss ice cream coming over from time to time

I wonder if the ban covers the playing surface?

Zack Steffen could have a few drags if he was that way inclined, if he was having a quiet day. He could possibly have a couple of pints if the stewards aren’t enforcing the no alcohol policy away from the concourse.

I no longer smoke but do vape a bit. I do it especially at matches and in pubs. that's because I don't like to follow the rules, am a rebel and like sticking it to the man!!! Obvs, I wouldn't do it if I was told to stop by a steward or one of these 'decent fans' I keep hearing about.

If it was allowed would it be selfish?

I have not heard drunks been described as selfish stinking of booze and swearing in the concourse? Probably because that is allowed?

TBH I'm not bothered if it is banned or not and wouldn't vape in the ground as it isn't allowed. I just find the banning of something like vaping a bit weird. It isn't smoking and it is legal to vape in pubs / public places etc.
We know vaping is less harmful than smoking, we don't know that it is harmless. Big difference. Years ago Doctors actually prescribed cigarettes for people with coughs. We won't know the long term damage of vaping for years (obviously).

I know it’s their job but given the aggression of some supporters when compared to the stewards hourly rate it’s probably not always worth the aggravation.
Yeah, I genuinely appreciate that their pay is probably not worth the hassle they would likely get for challenging vapers… but if the stewards aren’t going to challenge it, who is?

At least if a steward challenges it and is met with abuse they could escalate it and would likely be able to trace the ticket to a person and the club could deal accordingly. If it’s left to fans to self police that just creates more problems.

There was a section on James O'Briens show about it yesterday which i found quite interesting (the bits i heard). One of the arguments was that it Seems OK now but there isn't 10 years worth of evidence to show that it is safe long term. There was also a bloke who IIRC switched to vaping from cigarettes and his usage increased to the point he's vaping the equivalent of 120 cigarettes a day, and is waking up in the middle of the night to vape which he never did when he was on cigarettes. The nicotine in them is still addictive. Someone also mentioned that in Denmark they are plain packaged like cigarettes and you can only get tobacco or menthol flavour ones.

Vzzzbx, I started vaping after not being able to give up the fags and I must have tried 20 times over the years. Stories such as the man who is vaping the equivalent of 120 fags a day are rare I think. I stopped smoking 18 months ago and have gone from using 18mg to 12 and now 6mg. In a month or two I will go to 3mg and in September zero. My plan is, once I get to Goa Airport for my return flight to Blighty, where my vape will be confiscated, is not to buy a new one. I do agree that they should only be used as a way to reduce or stop people smoking and should be regulated - plain packaging/tobacco or menthol flavours only/banned for sale to anyone under 18 (strictly enforced) etc.

give them warning the first time, then second time take the device off them, tell them it can be collected during the week from behind reception, if not collected within a week it will be disposed of. dont want to hand it over then have to leave.

aye get them banned, make smoking and vapes from a certain point only legally available to people of 18 at the date you place the law in, make it so people need to present ID to buy, then every year you increase the the year people are allowed to buy them by 1 year. It will make it so in 20 years you need to be 38 to buy either of them. eventually they will be out the market as won't be worth stocking them or buying them due to the super high price as sales go down and down. maybe have the vapes a year or 2 behind the cigs so they can have a year or two to get off them.

for people who get addicted by black market supply, make a non flavoured vape available for addicted people on a paid prescription for people who are under the age limit to help them move away from being addicted, with a staggered nicotine reduction.

that's how you get rid of all of them, its not rocket science.

people will always get them from black market, but as less and less people get into it that will slowly dry up as well. not a problem that can be solved instantly but you can solve it within 20/30 years slowly by doing this.

It's interesting, the NHS are reportingly going to give out vapes to save peoples lives. Yet MFC have banned it in an open air stadium.
I am not blaming either, so not suggesting either is right or wrong.

I don't vape and it's been 25 years since I smoked.
It might be open air but why should people who can’t move have to passively take in their vape?

Just create an external vape zone for them to chuff in and have a zero tolerance policy in the stadium.

They know peoples names from tickets and seat numbers. So first time ejection, second time give them a ban, third time long term ban. Make it for any anti-social behaviour not just vaping.

Smoking is an adjective described as ‘emitting smoke or visible vapour’ in my dictionary. Some, but not all of the other issues you raised are clearly valid too, but the rules exist, you and I do not have a personal veto, the fact you don’t like the rule of feel others are more important is neither here nor there.
Vapers repeatedly refuse to follow rules, not just in football stadia, trains, shops, pubs everywhere. Something needs to be done about it because it’s allowing anti-social behaviour to be accepted
