Forest game might be off

Wonder if the City Ground has ever flooded? Would certainly be appropriate given the Trent End.

Blackburn have form with calling games off because of rain. Old stagers like me recall A match called off an hour before kick off once at Ewood as we walked to the ground.
Yes I made that trip too Cardiff

But I also went to the rearranged midweek fixture (y)

The irony of that postponement was that the match was being sponsored by a specialist department of ICI North West that had some new sort of grass technology to promote :ROFLMAO:

You would think Blackburn would know better after all the fuss Tony Parkes made about the wasted pies in December 1996🤔

We played in the cup in Cardiff in 1994 I think, and it pi=ss=ed down the whole match - with no cover in the away end at Ninian Park
Then we couldn't find the car. Knew the Street name but not where it was. Had to borrow an A to Z in a garage to find it. By the time we found the car we'd stopped walking round deep pools of water, as our feet were drenched anyway
It then stopped raining

Bristol City away in 1990 was the same. Pi=ss=ed down and no cover in Boro end, but we found the car quickly!

Went that day, rain didn’t seem that bad. Had just had my ingrowing toenail done the day before that match as well, great couple of days. 😂

I've looked out of the window and I can confirm it is not raining here in Nottingham at the moment, however after our performance on Saturday and the fact that they have found some form, I am about to undertake a little rain dance to get things moving.
The Trent is right up at the back of Trees ground - right up to The Boat Club.
Their pitch has poor drainage.
Starting around midnight it is predicted up to a months rain in the next 24 hours.
All the usual places effected by heavy rain have already flooded or been closed.
The line to Newark is flooded.
The Park n Ride next the Trent is flooded.

Where there are usually ten steps down to the Trent at Wilford Bridge - there were three left above the river line at T-time.
Hope the lads have some decent studs for tomorrow.(y)

If it’s not on it at least gives Fletch an extra bit of time to sharpen his fitness . Remember their last outing they won 3-1 and ain’t lost in 7

It's working, game will be off at this rate and we can play them in April when their season is over and our winger and striker have well and truly bedded in😁
