Free Agents - Worth a punt?

Here are some of the players who will be out of contract this summer, I’ve removed any obvious ‘no chance’ players (Thielemens, Zaha etc), but any realistic targets?

(Apologies if this is out of date – And there is undoubtedly many more I have missed - so please add!)

For our needs, maybe Manning, Davies, Elyounoussi would all add something in areas we are short this summer.
 
I wonder, with a touch of insanity possibly..............

If Carrick could get anything out of Barkley?

Couple of fantastic players on this list.

Veltman is very good - but very much doubt he'd need to drop a division to get a club.

Manning has been excellent for Swansea this season and we're in desperate need of a LB now Giles has gone back.

Not sure about the rest tbh

Squad game innit!

To be honest, I'm sort of expecting Chuba to be sold for some reason. I think Barkley is nearer an '8' than a '10' though isn't he?

Be interesting to see if any changes in personnel see Carrick switch/tweak formation or stick religiously to as we are. Like if we lose Chuba and can't get a good left back in but have an abundance at centre back, would he go 3-4-3 say or accommodate square pegs in round holes.

I really hope it doesnt come to that, even if we lose players, I would like to think the recruitment department have factored this in, so that we dont need to 'reset' again this summer.

For the majority of Carricks season, his sytle/ formation has worked, and worked well, so to have to alter it this summer would be like starting again.
 
Some decent players on there.

Manning excellent shout at LB (wouldn't be surprised if a bigger club came in for him).
Tuanzebe, be a very good signing.
Byram - what happened to him? Norwich doesn't look like it has been a good move, was an outstanding prospect at Leeds.
Tom Davies - be on big wages and can't see him dropping down to the Championship
Ross Barkley - as above

Proves we don't have to spend mega bucks to pick up good players👍

Dele-Bashiru would be an interesting one, and agree with Ogbene, forgot about him, but always looks dangerous at this level.

I think Nelson from Arsenal would be ambitious unfortunately!

Whoever we end up with I'd like us to sign..................

A bigger nastier centre half who gets on the end of set pieces - a Pearson type
A Howson replacement who is a bit more physical and athletic - a Boateng / Viera type
A competent left-back with good pace and crossing - a French Franck type
A player with creativity / guile to play across the 'three' - a Ramirez type

If two of these players have Grant's drive and attitude that would be super, and if one of them was a deadball specialist that wouldn't hurt either.

Then maybe utilise loans for the other positions we need to strengthen where the quality we require would likely be beyond what is deemed as sensible financially. (Steffen & Archer say)

If @newyddion could provide me any Paraguayan, Hungarian or Japanese options that would be great.
