I can't fathom out why any decent manager/coach would go there while Alex Ferguson is still hanging about in the background.

Initially I thought OGS was a good appointment. A club legend who seemed to be popular with the players as well as the fans and importantly liked by the man who oversees the dynasty - SAF himself.
He didn’t need to do much to make things better post Mourinho. Just treat the players with respect and and they would deliver given their talent. Sadly it needed more as time went on. They started fairly well with 4 wins in 5 this season but as soon as they brought the biggest ego of all into the mix their form has headed south.
