GB NEWS

Made me laugh...
There are some dissenting voices on Wootton’s panel, but most of his guests are a who’s-who of trollkind. They include Allison Pearson, Rod Liddle, Claire Fox, Megyn Kelly, Laurence Fox, Lady Colin Campbell, Lord Voldemort, Scrooge McDuck, the millionaire from the cover of the Monopoly Box, Cruella DeVil, Megatron, Gargamel from the Smurfs and Nigel Farage. (Only the worst seven actually appear.)

Lot of angry and indignant GBNews supporters flooded their PR department threatening to ditch their cupboards in the sea. Cancel culture cancelled out with a bit of cancel culture.
Yes I saw some twerp from The Spectator threatening a boycott of Kopparberg because of their 'cancel culture' move. Fortunately these people have had an 'irony bypass' otherwise they would be so conflicted their heads would explode (notice I didn't say brains there).

I had literally just copied the exact same paragraph to post up 😂

It’s a very good read and sums things up nicely, although the target audience of GB News won’t see it, unfortunately.

They’ve been on air for a good few days now, so it’s good to see they’ve ironed out all the technical glitches and are much more professional now...

Interesting banner at the bottom of that picture "Footprints of possibly last dinosaurs to walk Britain found in Kent". Bloody hell has Farage been down to the beach in Dover again? It's the Faragosaurus. :giggle:

Personally think it should be left alone now. By pleading with advertisers to pull their ads just gives them more publicity than they deserve. If It continues to be no good it will die in good time.

Anyone who values free speech should be wary of the sanctimonious cheerleaders of Stop Funding Hate. Their attempts to stifle GB News within days of its launch are odious and undemocratic.

The hypocrisy of defending GB news whilst simultaneously championing free speech

I seem to be a good judge of companies. None of the above.

Hope fmttm doesn't advertise on there or I'll be a bit torn.

PS or Aldi

I guess it depends on your particular take on what 'free speech' actually means.

But there's a difference between that fundamental right and going beyond it, by misrepresenting the truth and incitibg hatred and intolerance.

I haven't watched the channel, nor will I, but they people who will do so in order to reinforce their beliefs - its a TV equivalent of an echo chamber.

Good deflection from your hypocrisy. Standard behaviour from people like you

nobody is "pleading", people are taking a moral stance on this subject as is their right.
Agree it is but bombarding the advertisers on social media in the fashion they have is not the way I would do it.

Don’t get me wrong I am against everything they stand for and the Stop Funding Hate group have the very best of intentions but from what I’ve seen most of the mocking is at the quality of the Channel‘s broadcasting as opposed to the content. The sound quality, lighting, amateurish presenters is one thing, and yes it provides a laugh, calling out hate talk without providing actual examples to the advertisers is another and they have not done been able to do that sufficiently so far. And then what happens? Andrew Neil gets on his high horse, asks the advertisers for examples of hate speech - which they are unable to provide - and Neil and his cronies win the moral high ground.

By all means criticise hate speech when it occurs but from what I’ve seen so far from that Group its been light on evidence.

If people don't watch it companies won't advertise, if it proves popular they will.knocking your Vodafone contract on the head is hardly going to topple it.😀
