George Camsell in The Times

This week I was interviewed by The Times about George Camsell ahead of the publication of my biography of the Boro and England goalscoring legend, due out later this year.
Unfortunately The Times have the article behind a paywall but thought I'd share for anyone interested who might have a subscription to The Times. As a disclaimer I was overseas when doing the interview last minute so had to do it off the top of my head and would tweak some stuff but hopefully it will help raise the profile of Camsell nationally: https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...-english-footballs-forgotten-greats-8vk6vsx8d

Keep us posted mate I’ll def be buying your book. I still amazed he doesn’t have a statue but there ya go

Interested in the Times article AND to rad @BoroHistorian biography

Once we get back in the prem and have a bit of cash, the avenue of legends needs a couple of new statues....starting with the two George's Hardwick and Camsell. Not only is he our record scorer but he's right up there with the best the history of English football.

I'm on the case with the statue/commemoration thing but its one of those things that is costly and need to have a well thought out, costed process for it (like with the Cloughie one) but will keep the group posted and perhaps look at some fundraising etc if that might be an avenue people were interested in.
