Germany and Spain out????

Of the tournament favourites, Brazil are unbeaten but then Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Spain and France have all lost. Italy aren't even here.

Puts the USA game in perspective and perhaps that wasn't as bad a result as it initially seemed.

I don't bet but given the recent results we must be 2nd favourites I'd think?
 
Argentina are coming into their own now. Brazil are very good. France would probably have won if they hadn’t made changes. Spain also looked very good first half tonight. England have looked good against two average sides. I really want England to impress and progress but I can’t get my hopes up just yet. Really looking forward to Sunday though.
 
So close, it's a shame Costa Rica imploded.

Good news is that no team looks unstoppable so far.

They've all either lost or were lucky not to.

Portugal scraped past Ghana with a very dodgy penalty decision and could still lose their last game.

Brazil have looked okay, I guess, but they've not been as brilliant as I expected given the hype.
 
France's first team still the team to beat for me, or Spain going full guns blazing.

Don't think anyone's looked stable or consistently great. Far from impressed with Argentina, and Brazil without Neymar is not the same level, I doubt he'll play again this tournament with ligament damage.

France have lost a fair bit of momentum with players dropping out.. they don't seem fully there. Spain looked great their first game, maybe this close shave has rocked them.. might give them a bit extra. Brazil without Neymar are still a great team.. although they look suspect defensively (as do we)

Argentina were my favourites going into this ( I changed from France after speaking with Neil Warnock in person)
 
The headline Das Bild.

After Russia 2018 we thought: It can't get any worse.
After today we know: It gets worse.
In between was the EM 2021, when we had to bow out in the round of 16 (0:2 against England).
Three tournaments in a row where we didn't break anything. The football world used to tremble in front of us. As a "tournament team" we were praised. Now Germany is just a football dwarf.
 
It's funny whilst other teams were keeping their powder dry when unimpressive, England were unimpressive, nay crap, it was Southgate's lack of tactical ability and fear of loosing.

Weird innit.

England might have beaten Wales if they hadn't made a raft of changes.
