Gestede

Got to laugh sometimes, whilst i agree with you all he was one of the worst signings ever, was not good enough and didn't justify the money. He wasnt a bad person as a person, he did lots of work with the foundation people never saw.
I'm sure he's not a bad bloke but in terms of his desire and commitment as a footballer, it's nonexistent.

The Mido one is a touch more annoying to me as he was clearly talented enough to be a good player.
Mido asked Southgate if he could arrange for a section of the training complex at Rockcliffe to be sectioned off so he could arrive at training by helicopter !

At least d*ck Turpin had the decency to wear a mask!

Why Gibson thought it a coup to sign a relegated player that had one solitary decent season, who then riled the fans with his antics at that Blackburn game and who subsequently was hell bent on pressing charges when a fan was taken to court over a misunderstood (but ok unwise) gesture and lost, is frankly beyond comprehension. I and a good few others said it would come back to bite .................

We should do as the actors do with ‘the Scottish play’ and never mention him by name again. He should be forever known as the Benin Bunco or the French Fraud.

Said it when we were looking at signing him that we should never have signed him after all of “the pits” carry on never mind the fact he was a **** footballer, whoever come up with his signing (Gary Gill/Victor Orta?) should never work in recruitment again - up there with Kevin Thomson as top boro villain

He at least got on the pitch😉

I know we can all talk about cr*p signings and flops but I still say Rudy is hands down the worst pound for pound signing. In terms of fee/wages/performances and then to cap it all he leaves for nothing.

I would say well in excess of 10mil with wages.

I think Watmore has already nearly scored as many or more?
What on earth were the club thinking when they not only signed him, but apparently then turned down an offer to move him on too?! He's without doubt the worst signing Boro have made in my time following the team.

The midweek game away to Cardiff, when he had a go at the fans who had travelled all the way down there and stood in the pouring rain, summed him up.

As Erimus said earlier, a complete fraud, took us for a ride.
Huge error of judgement by Gibson to sanction the transfer, as said earlier it took Warnock a matter of days to tell him to sling his hook.

Yes the final 'twist' was not selling him. Pure boardroom madness😂

I never once saw or read his agent or player himself moaning about not playing or demanding a move. You'd think when he wasn't even get on the bench he'd want out. Nope just happy on 30k a week shopping in town on a Saturday.

He turned down a loan to Millwall (well we presumed it was him). Neil Harris saying players would rather sit on good money and not play than join them and play every week.

😔 He should just count himself lucky that he's in the right era to basically play a few games in the PL then set up for life

We've all got favourite players from the past who gave their all to our club & have had to do something outside of football to continue having a living wage, he tries to the minimum he can & is set up for life
Absolutely. The likes of Tony McAndrew and Hodgy would have decked Gestede for his attitude if they had been in the same squad.

epitomises the poor transfer dealings over a three/four year period.

didn’t need him, didn’t want him.

when he was on the pitch he didn’t even look like a professional footballer. We could have pulled a big lump out of the stand and he would have had as much impact.

Horrendous signing.
