Gold Season Card Holders

Yes I know Kosovo - it doesn't seem right.
I also don't think that lad in the ticket office can tell anyone how many seats are left - am referring to the other thread - because he won't know all the information.
The club have been given some sort of capacity number but it has to allow for bubbles etc. I think they have to work everything out with a bit of planning before they know exactly how many seats will be available.
Am not sure there is a fair system - but I don't think just suspending sales was fair.
There seems to be a lack of leadership above the football club from EFL and probably central government as well. We knew there was a problem as clubs such as QPR reported they had too many season tickets sold for probable capacity. Cardiff City have been a nightmare with their fans by the way, even blocking their Trust and treating some of their supporters who have been asking questions in a really cold, off hand manner.
It is difficult times though..

You don't think ticket office staff would be briefed on what's happening? Perhaps he shouldn't have said anything but if the report is accurate (IF) then I see no reason why someone working in the ticket office wouldn't know.

Whataboutery gets us nowhere, just because other teams have treated their fans worse doesn't mean it's acceptable. You did this when questions were raised over postage costs - just because you can find a company or club that treats their customers worse doesn't mean MFC are doing a good job. I realise you're the self appointed "Mr Middlesbrough" but a failure to accept a poor show on behalf of the club (or sometimes the town) makes your comments quite incredible at times.

Going off the Gazette figures we’ll have 12000 season tickets holders and if the limit is 9000 surely that means you go to 3 games then you miss 1. If the club can then give free live viewing (If possible) for the missed game imo even without the free viewing that would be ok.

We don’t have 12k season ticket holders though, currently we have somewhere between 6k and 7.5k dependent on how many gold card holders renewed, leaving around 1.5k to sell on Monday.

Not saying we’ve got 12000 season ticket holders that’s what the Gazette are suggesting we may have. So on Monday it could be a free for all. What about people who are working Monday and can’t hang on the phone for 1 hour+ hoping to get through. My above post was just a idea to get as many season ticket holders into as many games as possible without p¡ssing others off. The club are going to lose so many fans if it continues with this first come policy.

Am not being Mr Middlesbrough - I am trying to help people. And of course I think Middlesbrough should not have panicked people by stopping sales and of course I also think they should be telling people far more information and they ought to have started off by talking with supporters.

I just think people need to understand these are unprecedented times, not just in football but in all aspects of people’s lives, I think it is a case of, we are where we are and the club have sold tickets and really had to stop selling to take stock, as it would have been much worse to keep selling tickets regardless and then oversell.

I don't know about Monday.
I was in a meeting with FSA nationally yesterday and I wondered if what will happen is each time the local safety group come up with a revised capacity for different grounds then there could be a shocked response. The clubs are all working in the dark like us. We don't know when we will see football again but it won't be the same mass experience, sadly. But it has to be safe as possible.

@Robert Nichols - have you approached the club & asked them to put out a statement clarifying the current position and any other info they can share so as to try and stop the speculation that is obviously getting some people worked up?

THIS!

The info should be on the club’s website and should have been on there from the moment they re-opened ticket sales.

Totally agree Primus and I've said that in an earlier comment but they didn't do that and we had to find out second hand. Now its an issue it would be sensible for the club to say something & Rob has the access to them that the rest of us don't hence the question.

As I’ve said many times on this, it’s an appalling lack of communication and shows the utter contempt they have for their customers.

In the absence of clarity on what was going on all they had to do was put out a statement similar to Derby’s, and most people would have felt reassured.

I really don’t see what’s so difficult.

I emailed the club with queries on losing gold card status by not renewing.

Got a phone call and an email explaining the position - as stated before if you decide not to renew (like me) you will not lose your gold card privileges for season 21/22.

Agree that they should have made this as a public statement though.

Though one of my colleagues was told on the phone earlier in the week that if he didn’t renew by Saturday he would lose his gold card status.

Total absence of clarity and leadership.
