If we don’t concede we can’t lose. It might not be pretty and no doubt people would whinge about being entertained, but I’d be happy with a 0-0 to stop the rot at the minute, and if we could nick a goal even better.

This is the catch 22 though, we don't seem to have the players to do that.
In a lot of games it's gone wrong because we've stopped trying to play (or been stopped from playing) and surrendered possession. Pressure mounts and eventually, inevitably we concede.
I don't think we can or should try and go backs to the wall. But of course we do need to try and plug the leaks. It's a fine balance.
Burnley are probably not a bad blueprint to try and copy to an extent. They look to get on the ball and play, but are disciplined out of possession and don't over commit going forwards.

We have been playing "CarrickBall" for over two years. I just do not believe we will see any change on Friday.
Add into the equation Bristol have beaten us in our last 3 meetings under Manning.
It's a really difficult game for us on Friday.

And that's the roundabout of football results. I'm sure if you had the time you could put together a full circle of who's beaten who in the Championship this season.
But sometimes a teams style or a particular manager can prove difficult for another.
Bristol City under Manning and Coventry under Robins are two opponents theat we have struggled against.
Bristol City have managed to go 2-0 up in the first half in our last 3 meetings. They've done it by doing exactly the same thing. Pressing us high up the pitch with a load of energy from the start and forcing mistakes in our own half then capitalising. Once they've got a lead, they've sat off us and let us have the ball and played with a low block.
I fully expect them to come out with the same plan on Friday. We are still vulnerable to this.
First goal will be really important, as it is in any game.

Can anyone really say what the best team is without Doak or ELL?
Those two were our team - one to provide something a bit different and one who provided energy, power and commitment to run through a brick wall for the team. Plus, they both had pace.
I have no idea who Carrick should start on Friday. Travers in goal and Djiksteel right back would be the only two I would say are my first names on the team sheet after that I don’t have a clue. Players out of form, lacking confidence, match fitness and a lack of passion for the shirt they should be proud to wear.
He tried something different last Saturday bringing in an extra midfielder and is backfired dramatically. What does he do this week? I don’t know and I don’t think Carrick does.
I find it very hard to predict our starting 11 and how we might play at the moment. Just have to hope things click and we get back on track
