I watched some of it. Turner has one of those gurning faces which makes him look about 40!

About 10 years ago I was given a place in the Paris Roubaix sportive and was able to “experience” cobbles. It rained too.

After about a couple of cobbled sectors I was caked in mud but so was my bike and had to abandon sadly as it was just too hard to ride. I look in awe at these classics riders and what they can do and achieve. As for Van Aert he is a motor engine.

In the interests of balance, the women had it pretty tough too with probably more major crashes throughout the 160kms of their race. Commentary in french. (I don't have GCN).
