Gus hamer injury

Can't see this as anything as a poor attempt at mind games tbh.

To review what happened: minimal contact on Hamer, who then spent 5 minutes lying on the floor. He was then able to run back onto the pitch having caused a significant delay to the game, and if I'm not mistaken, 2 minutes later he drilled the ball away after a decision went against them (and somehow escaped a yellow)

He was one of the better players on the pitch and is obviously key for them. Think this is Robins doing what he can (very little) to try and gain some sort of edge.
You don't need a challenge to be badly hurt, and I think he was, he didn't look the same from then on.

We need to make sure we boot the other half of fitness out of him.......no prisoners tomorrow. Win at any cost, good sportsmanship can do one.

Need to see our ruthless streak on the pitch, which in turn will fire the crowd up 👍

Btw I'm not advocating the Vinny Jones school of football ......hard and (where necessary borderline) fair.

I thought the rule had changed on that?
If you're referring to the clause that says:

If a defender starts holding an attacker outside the penalty area and continues holding him inside the penalty area, the referee must award a penalty kick.

Then that's not particularly new. The wording was first introduced in 2007.

It also wasn't included in the main body of the laws, only in the "Additional Instructions and Guidelines" section at the end because it wasn't a totally new concept even then. It was simply a clarification (as there had been some debate on the matter) that applying the advantage clause logically and correctly, should lead to this outcome.

That this is simply part of playing advantage is reflected in the following extract from the IFAB's new website, http://www.footballrules.com, which styles itself as a simplified version of the Laws of the Game, designed to make them "easier to understand for everyone."
