Not really, its all just clutching again. She claims it was a mistake and thats likely to be true, if it was a personal phone it would be more suspicious but its not like she would make any money on a work phone being replaced. The fact she was prosecuted over it is frankly ridiculous when you see what so many get away with.

The right wing rags are certainly going to town on the government digging up anything and everything they can find, its a pity they didnt use the same scrutiny with the last couple of government’s instead of blowing smoke up them.

I know a civil servant who works in Westminster and according to them somebody in the higher ups of Labour really wanted her gone.

Probably explains why she's quit over a fairly soft issue from a decade ago.

It’s certainly worthy of question when the party know all about it but the resignation only happens when it begins to be reported on.

No not really, seems something quite trivial from 13 years ago. There is every chance she would have been questioned on it privately years ago and they accepted it was a mistake. You, the troll and the right wing press wanting it to be something more does not make it so.

Why does it matter, she has said her side of it, Labour clearly accepted that at the time, why should you have a say in what job this woman has? How full of yourself are you? A trivial mistake that was clearly accidental 13 years ago should not be held against someone forever and effect their ability to earn.

I, like any other member of the public, reasonably reserve the right to comment on and question the actions of politicians.

Why is it a resigning issue now when it was a “trivial” matter 13 years ago?

Transparency?
