Has anyone built their own shed?

A cheap shed will cost around £300 for a 4x6ft. I need a bit more space than that and have a good concrete hard standing and 2 adjoining walls where I can build a lean-to style shed. I’ll only need to build 2 sides and put a pent sloped roof on. I don’t need a window. How difficult would this be and does anyone know rough costs, and why materials I would need? I would be looking about 8x5 overall size. Any tips and advice? I’ve got a good selection of tools.

Wood is expensive for the frame, lap board for the walls it's cheap though. I got 2 x 3 6ft long to build a rabbit run and it cost me, with wire and staples and screws and a staple gun about 160.

The wood for the frame will cost about 100 given you have 2 walls already. It will be an easy build because it's not free standing.

Lap board is cheap as chips about 2 quid for 2m x 10cm. Make the shed dimensions to fit the wood you buy to save on money for materials and waste.

Invest in a decent cordless drill to drive screws in and a jigsaw or better yet a table saw. If you use a jigsaw don't expect to cut straight lines without a jig.

Best of luck and watch the fingers
