That’s a beauty that one.. would have looked class in green and burgundy with the Erimus badge.

Errea would have been class. We’d have had template shirts from adidas.. which would have been better than the shyt from Castore. Hummel do decent retro stuff.

They had the chance to create something outrageously classy and vintage - a shirt every Boro fan would have felt almost duty-bound to buy.

A one of a kind.

Instead, we’ve got a tomato-and-mustard anniversary top with a bright white sponsor slapped across the front.

An absolute abomination. For a milestone this big, it feels like nobody involved really understood the assignment.

Fair enough - I suspect they felt if they went too "one of a kind" - people would not buy them even if they liked the look of them.

I am slightly disappointed in the home shirt, quite like the away and the blue 150 shirt.

Can understand why people are disappointed, but feel the vitriol is a little mad.

I don’t think they look at anything like that.

Number 1 priority is not to lose any money
Number 2 priority is to get the kits as cheap as they can get.

If any time has been spent on these kits.. it has been wasted time. There are fundamental design elements that are never taken into consideration. It doesn’t seem as if they can be communicated to the club either.

It was more based on Castore than Boro. They will have market research.

But you and Newy could be right and they haven't really thought about it.

Bizarrely to me - the yellow kit with the bespoke material based on the badge is a weird amount of effort for something a bit rubbish.

A version of this would have been sound.

The this with red instead of pink would have been cool..

Huddersfield got this.. this season.

No Preston castoffs.. change the red out for blue and it’s still better than anything we’ve been lumped with.

Well yeah, why would they. It's not like it wasn't clear that we were gonna have gold on red this season, they told us like last October when they revealed the new badge. The kit itself is the same exact template.

Gold implies that it’s going to be high end and luxurious.. it isn’t. It’s shyt.

No mention of us having a Preston shirt for our 150th anniversary either.. or the Oxford one.

I’ve said a few times that I do t have a problem with the template.. but time and time again the execution is poor.

We’ve seen it with other manufacturers we’ve had and we can see it with Castore and other clubs. It’s on us.

We don't have a Preston shirt, nor an Oxford shirts. Preston don't have some ownership over white shirts with blue trim. People broadly wanted an anniversary shirts that basically has all the features of the one we've got. Off-white, blue trim, polka dots. It's fine if you don't like it. But this "it's a Preston/Oxford shirt!" is silly.
