Have people been won over by the Hundred?

The graphics are awful and the unnecessary distractions still make me cringe at times but I have put aside my initial snobbery and enjoy watching most games now, or I at least have it on in the background.

I have to be honest in saying I don’t bother with the women’s games though.

I was never someone that was against it but understood why some people would be. I think it’s ok and does a job as another type of cricket to watch… I see it as like what the league cup is to football really.

my two kids love it, I just need to find a hundred quid for the shirts for them now 😂

Hardly watched it and even when I did I was watching a game in the pub and it wasnt until Lyth came on to bowl that I realised it was us ie Northern whatever.
Cant get inspired when Yorkshire players are playing against you. Found myself wanting Bairstow to do well even though he was the opposition in one game I watched.

What it has done though is get me out to see some real cricket. Been to Scarborough twice and York and off to Headingly next week for a bit of the test.

Far too much cricket being played and this would be the obvious one to get rid of as its the poorest but thjat wont happen unfortunately. Spoke to my mates a few days ago and asked who was watching. Most of them will watch all televised cricket and stream every Yorkshire game when possible But most are not really bothering watching for any length of time.

As Mwelolo said above I haven't watched any of the womens games.

I haven't watched a game yet, the sportfest of pre season football, the Olympics and other cricket has been more than enough.

I had a brief look one afternoon but it didn't last long.

I’m not a big cricket fan but will watch internationals. I’ve never really enjoyed test cricket though as it drags on too much and too long. So always preferred the shorter versions, don’t really see the point in this 100 though it just plays out like T20 but with fewer balls though it’s not noticeably different or quicker. I’ve watched a couple of them when nothing else is on, just can’t see why anyone bothered with the investment and time to set it up.

Some really good matches so far. The team quality is one up from the T20 county set up. Watching a 6 from 5 different camera angles and missing the next ball is a bit annoying as is the gaudy graphics. I still keep working out runs per 'real over' though.

I have to admit I absolutely hammered it and frankly thought 'what's the point?'. I mean it's basically T20 with a bit of tweaking.

That's said.... Ive actually watched a few games 'dipping in and out'. I don't think I've watched a full one. Just stick on the 2nd innings if nothing on and the missus watching some guff. So I think it's slightly won me over. I even posted the other night about Alex Hales being hit in the Goolies😂

The one thing I will say is that it appears to have been an absolute success. The grounds are far fuller than domestic T20 matches and everyone is having a good time. It seems like a bit of a 'laugh' especially with kids on Holidays.

So it's much needed revanue for these clubs post covid. They get feck all income from domestic cricket at the best of times. So I'd say its been done very well. It has a bit of a feeling of when sky got hold of the Darts.

It's definitely here to stay. Also if it gets bigger then more 'stars' will come over. I am actually suprised how many big T20 stars have been involved. God knows what De Kock is getting paid. Also seeing England team mates bowling at each other can be amusing (they seem to have a laugh about it).

I actually looked at getting tickets for one down here in Hampshire. It was a bit of a faff though as you don't do it through Hampshire and need a 100 account and do it through the 100 website. They then randomly release batches of tickets. So didn't bother.

I see the final is already soldout (week on sat).

So like when we signed Bolasie......i stand corrected😂😂😂

Watched a bit but, I need a vested interest in a team and as the team names are turd, and all Americanised franchise type name I can't buy in to them. Logically it would be Northern whatever been closest to me but feels a bit Leeds so can't do that.

Agree with all of that, I've lost interest since the England players went off to the Tests and Stokes had to take time off. I think it has been great for the Women's game and it's great to get cricket back on terrestrial television. My biggest bug bear is I can't get invested in any of the teams, would prefer a competition that included the traditional counties in some way. I guess I'm not the target audience and it seems popular among younger folk so would see it as being a qualified success so far.

It dies what it says on the tin, I think it will advance the woman's game but at the detriment of test cricket which I think will die out over the next two decades.
I do think the t20 format is better, though I like the fact that the incoming batsman us on strike, gives a bit back to the bowlers.
Iam guessing mist of us are not the target audience.
I still think 50 overs is the best form of white ball cricket

It's got a real tournament feel to it with there being a game every day.

They could have turned the blast into this though with rescheduling and speeding up the slow over rate, still not convinced a new format was required.

I must admit I was very sceptical and probably a bit snobby about it all, but terrible graphics aside, I am loving it.

I have watched some of the womens game, and apart form the big hitting, I am enjoying the battles between bat and ball.

If it gets more people interested in the game, then it can only be a good thing.

I have read somewhere that the new format is merely so that the ECB hold the rights as they didn't trademark t20 when that was introduced!

It's for kids, let them enjoy it. Anything that gets them away from a PlayStation seems a good idea to me.

I have not watched a game yet but noticed the purple and green, that needs a plan b.

It is the ECB clumsily trying to wrestle top spot in short form franchise cricket from IPL and take short form away from the counties.
The sport does not need another short form format that confuses/complicates in comparison.
Colin Graves' disaster legacy.
It's just T20 with more gimmicks.

Let it work for women's cricket. I suspect the counties won't play T20 in the near future, T20 will be in a 8-10 franchise league around the Test grounds and Bristol and the "hundred" will have served its purpose.

I've watched a lot of the games and it has been ok.

I prefer t20 to this format.

I fear for the future of Englands'test side to be honest. So many of the top players are playing limited overs in preference to county and test match cricket ( Rashid and Bairstow for example)

How can it be that Bairstow had never played a 1st class game until August and stepped strraight into a test match?

On a lighter note, how long before we have ' strictly cricket ( or something along those lines), played by celebrities on a Saturday night T.V slot?😄

Moeen Ali called up by the test side. I bet his 100 side are thrilled as top and he's flying....a 6 machine.

Now back in the dross test side probably coming into batwith us 67-4 or something😂

I'm guessing he will miss out on the final a week on sat if he remains selected. I know test cricket is the pintical but not sure about at the moment.
