.....ten to five, day before Easter Weekend "needs doing now". Really? Does it really?

Probably about 3 hours worth, to be sent out and not be looked at until Tuesday / Wednesday.

Great start to the weekend. God, I fooking absolutely hate my job.

Boro better not let me down tomorrow 😤😤

On Tuesday, assuming you have to do this at home….. You could say the dog chewed up the paperwork or broke your laptop, worked for me at uni once 😁

Yeah that’s bollox. Had a manager that used to badger me to complete everything before my annual leave and have a list of new jobs when I got back. They did the same before and after they went on holiday too.
Thankfully don’t work for them anymore. Out of Office is now on till the 13th. It’s party party party.. everyone round mine for a parmo!

Shtiy behaviour
Those in power know their ā€˜staff’ find it hard to say ā€˜no’
Have a good weekend

That would be hard no from me.

You need to question why they haven’t done it themselves, or not asked for it to be done earlier.

Not your fault if they are a disorganised chaos machine.
The work I'm doing should have been done a year ago (only been at the company 6 weeks!!!). What I'm doing, we know for a fact doesn't work, so will need to be redone anyhow. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

A disorganised chaos machine.....yup, just about sums things up. I've been using total clusterf*ck, but either/or.

You're only just in a new job aren't you?

It's not your responsibility if someone has not programmed work effectively. You need to stand up for yourself and tell them that in a constructive way but make sure they understand that you're not doing it if the don't give you the required timeframe to complete it in. It doesn't have to be confrontation.

haven’t you moved jobs recently?

I’ve only ever managed small teams, never director of a big department or whatever, but I just don’t get where these morons get off. I’ve always attached a fair bit of value to actually being liked by the people I share office space with.

Then again, maybe that’s why I’m probably not C-suite material. Most of them (not all) don’t care at all and it’s simply about getting paid a little bit more.

Yeah, 6 weeks ago. Or 7?

It's been a complete shytemare. Job I've been put on is f*cking awful, don't like the people I'm working with/sit next to (cliquey as), don't like the working hours, inflexibility and my work/life balance has become skewed too far.

Apart from that .....there's free tea, coffee and fruit. šŸ™‚

Sorry to hear that. Not a good sign if you hate it already. šŸ˜ž

Ten to five the day before a bank holiday is a joke. You’re well within your rights to say no.

I got something through yesterday to approve today. Completely out of the blue. Not an insignificant amount of work but my day today had been completely planned and didn’t leave me time to complete said approval task.

So I ignored it.

I did 15 years of retail management, as soon as the clock ticked onto the minute I was no longer required to work, I was gone.

If it desperately needs doing, and your boss has only told you about it at 10 to 5. Your boss can either do it him/herself. Or accept that it’s not getting done until next week.

They should have planned better. That’s their job.

Go home. Life’s too short.

It would be a ā€˜no’ from me on that request, unless they wanted to offer a decent overtime incentive, then I might consider it, I assume it is not a life and death scenario?
