Just as Gas doubled in price on the wholesale market in the last two daysWalking round in shorts and t shirt last weekend, now the heating is on for the first time, a bit of a nip in the air…![]()
I listened to that yesterdayHeating is on
Shorts - that's easy, and should be the same for everyone.
The clocks go back, the shorts go back until next March.
The other good thing about the clocks going back - I can start listening to Winter Song by Lindisfarne again
Welcome to my world
Always more cost effective to put it on when you need it , unless you have a super insulated houseDoes everyone set theirs at a steady temp for the full 24 hours or to come on and off during the day.
Never know which is right!
Geordie propagandist Sam Fender does a decent cover of that. (y)The other good thing about the clocks going back - I can start listening to Winter Song by Lindisfarne again
I left the house at 5:30am and car was showing 0.5deg although no frost. Our radiators were a bit warm when I got up at 6:30 this morning and we have the thermostat set at 15. So it must have been very nippy last night. This didnt happen till November last year.

Been really unlucky to get a six night spell in mid Oct where the overnights have gone as low as near freezing. Last years Oct was a very mild decline and winter temps didn't hit until Nov15th ish even then it wasn't immediately zero overnight - that took a few more weeks to come in.Our radiators were a bit warm when I got up at 6:30 this morning and we have the thermostat set at 15.
