Hi-fi System help

They are little beauties. We've got two sets in the house as got my partner some for her birthday before we moved in together, then moved mine in. Been tempted to upgrade them but for the size of room and the music we listen too they're just really good so doesn't seem worth it. Got to go XL's though.
Two sets? That's just greedy!

I usually go to Lintone Audio in Gateshead. They have entry level stuff up to very high end. Just looking at prices, I got a Rega 3 turntable for £270 about 4 years ago, but it's double the price now!
You've got the same turntable as me from the same shop. £270 was a bargain, mine was £549 8 years ago

Looking to purchase my first HiFi in literally about 25 years and have no idea where to start.

Looking for something a little old school with turntable, radio, cd and cassette but haven’t a clue where to start.

Not wanting to pay a fortune either so if anyone has any suggestions or pointers to websites etc I’d really appreciate it. TIA.
Like already said, build your own buying what you can afford bit by bit when you can. It's handy for birthday & Christmas pressies.

I wasn't too sure how much I wanted to spend so I (re)started off with a good second hand TT from eBay, a pre-amp and a good set of leads from Richer Sounds and just plugged through my old mini hifi system. (I actually got the leads for next to nothing as he took them out of a store demo system.)

Since then Ive upgraded amp and speakers. Next is to replace the old (vintage) TT and get a good CD player.

Richer Sounds have some good affordable pieces. Marantz, Denon and Yamaha are pretty good kit without costing a fortune.

EDIT:
I'm not a Hi-Fi snob but I wouldn't waste my money on that Steepletone system.

Look at an all in one box. Plays all radio frequencies, DAB, internet radio (the best thing ever!!), CD player USB and ipod in etc.
Then buy a nice set of bookshelf speakers, a good turntable and a phono amp. This will sound awesome. Richer sounds will put that together for you. You can add a tape deck (play only) to the extra analogue stage if it has one.
Or, go oldschool separates and buy everything second hand off marketplace/Gumtree etc. Spend good money and not cheap stuff. It will sound like a sardine tin!!

My system is a Marantz MCR610 all in one, Projekt phono amp, Rega Planar 3 turntable, Acoustic Energy Aegis 3 floorstander speakers, QED Silver Anniversary cables.
