True story, do the American accents in your head:
was in a hotel in Rome having breakfast, bunch of American college kids (early 20s?) in too. One girl says to a young guy ‘We’re going to the Colosseum today you coming?’ He replies ‘Nah, seen shït like that before’

What!! The centre of the ancient world! My Mrs immediately says to me ‘shut up, sit down’ 😂

Am I the only one who read the whole post in an American accent? 😂

Here's my advice, go to the pantheon have a sit, look for an English/English speaking tour guide, pay the 20/25 euros for the guide round there, if they are good ask when they are going to the Vatican, coliseum etc, pay the money for a guide, you will learn more and see more than doing it yourself, also you can jump queue's!

Pre book the collesium, we got a 2 day pass for the Collesium and Palatine Gardens. It's time based so be there at the correct time and walk past the main queue. It felt like royalty🤣
