Hospitality Fights Back

Here's some real life for those who think a delay to June 21st is fine for everybody. Read the full thread. Then amplify this woman's story by thousands more.

If Rishi doesn't come out with a statement declaring support for people like her then I fear her story is only the tip of the massive iceberg that is threatening to sink an entire industry.

More importently where is the science to support this *****.

Yes, don't ease restrictions but show me some numbers that tell me hospitality is the problem?

I completely agree.

But, this photo does not show thousands of people, it shows a ‘small number’ of folk, which unless I am mistaken is not against any of the current restrictions.

(Btw, if/ when the current restrictions deadline shifts again it will break me - how much longer can all of this go on? 🙁)

Luckily we've been mega busy since reopening so fingers crossed we should be ok over the summer.

Speaking to a few others though on another forum I am part of and they aren't so optimistic about survival. Especially with the bounce back loan payments due to start on July 1st, furlough contribution costs to increase etc. There are also rumours of a legal challenge by nightclubs to the delay.

Just a few more taking it seriously. Taken 5 minutes ago.

I'm finding this difficult to understand. Our infection rates in NY state are much lower and our vaccination rate is higher. Hospitalisations are way down and we have had no restrictions for a couple of weeks. Most sporting and concert venues are either insisting on full vaccination or are still implementing masks and social distancing as a requirement for entry. Is it the delta variant that is causing the problem in the UK or something else? We are scheduled to arrive back on July 22nd and it looks like we are going to be back in the land of restrictions.....

Over 90% of infections are now the Delta variant. It is estimated to be about 40% more transmissable than the Alpha variant, which was significantly more transmissable than the first wave virus. The rise in infection numbers is still relatively localised to the North West, Bedford/Northamptonshire and Glasgow areas.

Isn’t that within the current restrictions? You can have 30 people in a garden?

You can yes. Where's the isolation periods that the plebs have to go through?

I was in a packed beer garden last night, not a problem on Teesside never mind the G7, and inside the pub was full too.

Never mind hospitality fighting back, it's time they got their act together so that you're not waiting 20 minutes for a drink and even longer if you're at the cricket.
