How can a Vaccine be safe for a 30 year old, but not a 29 year old?

Apathy is perhaps my one word answer towards the UK about coronavirus .

Any focus that I have seen in the last 12 months has been more about Brexit than anything else.
Agree about the antipathy towards the UK approach / vaccination "success" - no interest at all over here about how the UK are doing - they're more concerned about mismanagement of the vaccine roll out by Madrid.

More generally, I think there's a very egotistical view among (some) Brits that other countries care about what the UK are doing and are bothered about them leaving the EU - it really doesn't register here

I agree with that.

I'm annoyed with myself. I've just read this whole thread and it's pissd me off. And I don't even know why.

Good (from a vaccine point of view) to see that recent reports have shown that Covid is 8-10 times more likely to cause a blood clot than the vaccines. So if there's a 12.5% chance or so of getting the virus, then you're at the same risk of clots away, and about 20% of the population had already had the virus in January, so we're already past that point, and people are still at risk as it's not something that can be avoided forever if people want to carry on as normal/ travel abroad etc.

Also found a report from November, mentioning that covid antibodies from the virus can cause blood clots, so it's not surprising that it may be possible with a vaccine

I wouldn't bet against there being a link between certain people who are just at risk of the clotting regardless, whether that is clotting from covid, or clotting from vaccines, albeit getting it from the vaccine means you don't get a clot when you are actually ill with covid at the same time.
