How close do you live to where you were born ?

Upper Moutere, between Nelson and Motueka. Weather getting better now, should be around 24 or so today.

All my kids currently live in Welly, can't beat it on a good day, but they are few and far between :)
Ah great area to live. Plan (fingers crossed) to pop over on the Interislander sometime in Feb to do some tramping in Nelson Lakes. Stay in Saint Arnaud. Then hopefully to Kaiteriteri for some kayaking. My favourite place in the world.

Yes, lucky to live here tbh, Kaiteriteri should be lovely that time of year, kayaking up into the park is a great couple of days trip.

My 1st move, from one side of Ayresome Park, where I grew up, to the other, my 1st marital home, to now a tad further away from Ayresome Park, but not much mind

Nzedred, I know of 5 other Teessiders in Whangarei. You'll only be beaten if there's one on Stewart Island...or stationed on Antarctica.

There's a few round here, lots of US & Europeans too. Odd story, but one of our good friends here comes from a farm just down by Captain Cooks monument, and we only found out when we got chatting when first met that his farm bordered my wife's grandma's family farm. I don't know, you try and get away.........

Yeah it's a small world. When I was waiting to get my residency stamp in Auckland in 1989 it was a huge queue and when I got there I was the only European in the queue. About 30 mins later I heard a loud voice behind me that I recognised the accent. Turned out it was a lad from Thornaby who used to live next door to my cousin.
