How come the government don’t know who entered this country from Brazil on Feb 12 or 13

Unbelievable that they can’t trace someone because they filled the entry form in wrong.
Surely airlines must have records of passengers. Passport checks, Visa checks.
How many people actually flew here from Brazil in 2 days.
As I say unbelievable.

They arrived via a Paris flight to get around the e ban that was in place. Added to this the cases in Aberdeen then flew via London.

all in told they could be the potential of anyone on one of these three flights having them tested positive and In the case of the Paris to London and London to Aberdeen flights they may never have actually come from Brazil In The first place.

To add insult to injury they have never received the results and it’s taken nearly three weeks to identify the strain... so they could have infected god knows how many people after those dates

They don't even know if this person travelled from abroad, they literally have no clue who it is, all they have is a positive covid test for the Brazilian variant with no personal details. Could have travelled from anywhere, might not have travelled at all and picked it up in this country.

So they have a form filled in incorrectly. Where did this happen, airport, test centre in a town. They presumably know date of test. So why don't they ask for everyone tested at said place go for a retest. Or are we assuming it was filled out incorrectly on purpose.
Will have to read a bit more into it but luckily we have a world class track and trace who will sort it soon.

I thought I read the flight number,if they’re genuinely concerned then surely they know who was on the plane.....

This is what I saw in the Times which made me think they knew the plane:

“Officials are following up all passengers on the Swiss Air flight LX318 from Sao Paulo via Zurich that landed at Heathrow on February 10. The travellers are being urged to arrange tests for themselves and their households. They should have gone home from the airport and isolated for ten days.”

But the article also says:
“Surge testing has been deployed in south Gloucestershire and samples are being examined for variants. Residents in five postcodes in south Gloucestershire — BS32 0, BS32 8, BS32 9, BS34 5 and BS34 6 — have been asked to get a test even if they have no symptoms. Those who travel into these areas for work or visits can also have a test.”

Not clear if the two are linked, but it’s not ex impressive is it.

Edit, the article is about the missing person.

Distraction story......

Does anybody seriously believe this country cannot track a person who entered?

the person who they are tracking surely knows its him, therefore he should be hit with a whopping great fine!!!!!
