It wasn’t a great performance, but was never going to be. We did look solid at the back though and most importantly we got the win. Delighted for Leo.
I thought Hackney looked very neat and tidy and will only improve with more game time.

I honestly didn’t see any real difference in performance. We got the result but other than that the truth is we were pretty poor.

Yeah, no different, other that three points rather than none, but yeah. Also if you can’t see the symbology of Leo Percovich winning a game as manager of Middlesbrough football club, in his first game, and maybe only, in charge then you shouldn’t be anywhere near this club.

you can't knock the team tonight as they were well setup and defended like trojans so hats off to the coaching staff. Any win was welcome tonight, even though I think we probably could have scored more the result as we know was the most important stat.

I thought we had plenty of urgency, besides it's no good running around like headless chickens when you can easily get picked off like we did against Coventry. Team looked very well schooled tonight, passing was several levels up and more importantly we maintained the levels for the 90 minutes -- when have we last seen that type of performance?

Wasn't a great performance, thought we were okay. Birmingham had lot of decent build up play but up top Deeney and Hogan were well marshalled. Steffen made two saves of note.
Midfield was pretty average, but Hackney was very neat and tidy - and had 2 shots!!
Impressed with Forss when he came on, probably should have scored and the one he did put away looked offside.
Welcome 3 points, but we can play better than that.

Delighted we won, delighted for Leo but to say that was anything better than what went before isn’t something I can agree with.

Thought we played with plenty of urgency during the 1st half and I liked that players were chasing back to win the ball - something players had seemingly stopped doing under Wilder.
Thought some of the link-up play between McNair, Crooks and Djiksteel down the right side was excellent during the first half - it was just that final ball which let us down.
2nd half was scrappy and not pretty to watch but we dug in and got the three vital points.
