How is that not a penalty and a red card?

There needs to be a serious discussion re the overall standard of refereeing in this league, some of them are just incompetent to the point that now you can kick someone in the face and the ref say play on. Check with the 4th official if you're not sure, their arrogance and stubborness to do this is the most baffling for me.
 
Is there a sport with a worse level of official? Half the problems with VAR seem to be officials' bizarre interpretation of what they see, even with the benefit of a replay.

Common sense seems to be sorely lacking. I suspect this refs line of thought will be along the lines of: "well that high foot clearly connected with his face given the injury, but I didn't actually see it, therefore I can't give it."
 
Anyone else think that the standard of refereeing seems to have got worse with no fans being allowed at games?
I was just thinking that tbh. No way the referee gets away with that decision with the crowd against them. No way the players accept the decision with the crowd behind them.
