How's Your Dry January Going ?

11 days in and finding it relatively easy so far - few Becks Blue and Seedlip's consumed at the weekend. I was drinking a bottle of wine, 5 or 6 beers and a couple of G&T's some nights, and so felt as though I needed to calm it down a bit.

It's helped that I've got back into exercising, and so don't feel inclined to reach for a beer as soon as it hits 4pm

I did say I wouldn't drink until the pubs re-open, but I think I'll struggle if the rumors of closed until May are true.

This is the fifth consecutive year I have done DJ, it's been by far the easiest, I'm not one for drinking at home, will have the odd beer or three if watching boro on the tele, so not having pubs and restaurants open makes it much easier. Even decided to stretch it until the pubs open, will have my first beer of 2021 in the pub, with the current level of governent decisons that will be June I reckon.

Jesus I like a drink but that's some volume LJ.

I don't like spirits and have the odd glass of wine, so it's beer for me.
I do drink too much but my saving grace is that I eat healthy, only had 2 or 3 takeaways throughout this pandemic, and I do get out to exercise quite a bit.

I love a beer on a weekend so the one just gone was tough but I got through it. It feels like I'm punishing myself though. 5 weekends without will be really tough. Especially in todays climate. Not much else to do. I will do well to see the month out if the restrictions continue to increase severity. I'm on a fitness kick as well so it's nice to see a bit of timber come off.

Similar situation here over Christmas, 3 or 4 beers, bottle of wine and a couple of rum & cokes spaced out each day from about 4-5pm.

Not doing dry Jan, but have now knocked the booze on the head Sun-Thurs now back at work and homeschooling and just having a few on Fri/Sat nights.

Also doing a bit more exercise. Making sure I do 25 Squats, pushups and sit-ups every day and then getting out for a walk/bike ride a few times a week.

On day 8 at the moment and finding it quite easy tbh, heading to bed with a brew and an audiobook has helped. Plan is to do the first 3 months of the year without a drink. Last year I did my two longest periods without a drink in adulthood (5 + 7 weeks), but still feel I drank way to heavy the rest of the time ( as proven by some of the rubbish I've posted on here after midnight on a Friday). As with Lizards I find it to easy to get on a roll and next thing I know I'm a couple of bottles of wine and a few beers deep. No point really.

Doing Keto aswell, aiming to lose 4st and get back to 14st which I haven't been since university, so hoping the two will go hand in hand!

Day 8 here and fine, also gone cold turkey on carbs as well. Wife goes crazy if I drink during the week or have a few on a weekend so also feeling the benefit of reduced nagging. 😁

Not even tried this January so far. But, i did finish a bottle of Whiskey at the weekend and told the Mrs I wouldn't open another for a while.
Did Stoptober and kept it to just before Christmas.

How are you finding the no carbs? I felt a bit lethargic in the afternoons last week, and had some minor headaches, but seem to have come through that now!
