In other corruption news, Epsom racecourse will be used as a mass vaccination centre for COVID, owned by the Jockey Club wherein Dido Harding sits upon the board, anyone think that the Jockey Club has donated the use of the racecourse for the national good or for nice wedge of public money?

Great way to cover the losses for a full calendar of racing events unable to take place. To be fair, a racecourse and big sporting arenas are ideal for these types of programmes and should be put into action but it doesn't half stick in the craw that the same people continue to fall upwards despite letting the country down time and again.

Or maybe just get a couple of food nutritionists together with the supermarkets to put food hampers together with recipes etc. I am sure one of the supermarkets could be persuaded to provide at cost in these times.
But that’s too simple, it wouldn’t allow the corporate world to take their massive cut.
I am sick to the teeth of this government allowing big business to profit from everything, especially when it comes to screwing over the poor.
If parents were using vouchers for crack etc, surely those families should be in the care system and social workers can take the appropriate action. Oh wait, the Tories have cut social care and local authority budgets to the bone, they have gone away with surestart etc etc.

What a depressing image.
People who vote tory are genuinely unwell. Sadly I don't think many of them will be put off by seeing these outcomes because to me they seem to be motivated by vindictiveness and bitterness. They vote tory because they want to see poor people, or foreign people, or single mums, or students or whoever else they've got a gripe against punished.

They already can't be used for it. It clearly states on them what they can and can't be used for when given out by schools.

I’d rather the money was given to the parents even if some did go on “fags” and “crack dens” because it’s still a damn site more useful than those robbing b@st@rds giving it to their mates & relatives!!
But yet people still defend them I think the go to slogan from them now is “ if you can’t feed Em don’t breed Em” I’ve seen this bandied about a few times this morning from the usual suspects.
I really have no words for them & those that defend them in all honesty the really sad thing is that this does not surprise me at all.
What a cruel heartless society we have become when they let kids starve to keep millionaires happy they really need to take a good long hard look at themselves in the mirror with this one

Agenda or not Coops no denying that 1- kids in need not getting adequately fed and 2 - tax payer being shafted. One or both of those facts may impact you - I sincerely hope it’s only point 2!If you read through the comments you'll see vast differences in opinion. Some photos show parents appreciate of the food and the amounts which consist of far more than that photo.

Yeah agree that package is not acceptable. There are other posts showing very healthy looking packages (no comments please) so it seems to be a mixed bag... literally.

Too many people are lulled into thinking that these programmes on Channel 5 about poverty are the norm, and that everyone who benefits (or in this case, doesn't benefit) from these schemes fit into the same characteristics. Knocks me sick.

No it can't but clearly the example posted initially isn't the case across the board as some people would suggest.
I think its fair to add abit of balance.
As stated parcels like the example are not acceptable just for the benefit of people who can't be bothered reading the thread
