I always knew trumps demise would be spectacular but wow

Ilhan Omar is currently drawing up articles of impeachment and Pence has already been asked to invoke the 25th.
From a tactical point of view, a successful impeachment prevents Trump from holding any office in the future and would likely be enough to completely stain his family from running too.
As I said, it's the best way for the GOP to get from beneath his thrall.

25th amendment - Is this what Trump really wants ? Can't help thinking this is a way for him to get a Pardon from acting president Pence.

I honestly don't think Trump cares about power he just wants to steal as much money from his base as possible.

He just is too ignorant and narcissistic to realise that he would actually create a mob that would take over the building and that he's actually going to get into serious trouble.

The only reason it happened in the first place is because it was allowed to. You'll have seen the pictures of the full military gear 'police' during the BLM protests Vs yesterday.

This ultimately works out well for the political class because they now become the victim and the voters forget how utterly terrible both sides of the house have been and focus all the anger on Trump.

Trump's latest statement is to ward off the 25th amendment.

Don't be surprised if he's not impeached or removed in the next few days.
The GOP simply can't let him rule them from the sidelines and they have to rip the plaster off right now and show some belief in the constitution that they have sworn to protect.
Yes, it might make his MAGA thugs angry and violence will ensue, but their democracy is surely worth fighting for.
Their needs to be a clamp down on their iconography and ideology just as white hoods are now banned and confederate flags looked down upon do too must don’t tread on me maga guff be consigned to the dustbin of history as make no mistake they are one in the same.

make America great again was and always will be make america white again.

Me and the Mrs are currently binge watching Designated Survivor on Netflix.. (for those who haven't seen it the entire senate and presidential team are wiped out and Kiefer Sutherland becomes a stand in POTUS).. we've been watching a few episodes each night but then last night we were glued to CNN.. When we eventually got round to watching an episode the lines almost became very blurred as to what was real and what was fictional! A very surreal day for Washington yesterday

Proud boys is probably the most unintentionally gay name for a group I have ever heard. I always think of the cop from the village people when I hear the name for some reason. And the Duran Duran song wild boys. I bet they all **** each other off and insist theres nothing gay about it. And wear really tight leather clothing.

From the YouGov poll mentiontioned earlier...

• 58% of Republicans considered the storming of the Capitol peaceful.

• 52% of Republicans believe Joe Biden was to blame for the storming of the Capitol.

53% of Republicans say Trump is "not at all to blame" for the storming of the Capitol.

• 40% of Republicans would describe yesterday's terrorist mob as either "patriots" or "pro-democratic". Only 17% would admit to calling them "domestic
terrorists".

• 45% of Republicans strongly or somewhat support the storming of the Capitol.

• Only 27% of Republicans believe the storming of the Capitol is a "threat to democracy".

Things like this are worrying. Trump being an insane megolamaniac is no surprise. The fact so many people wish to enable him and support him is truly terrifying.

it's an absolute sh!tshow. Those are truly terrifying figures. The US is culturally fubar'd and it's clear Trump should ahve been addressed earlier, because these insane attitudes are endemic

If those poll figures are even remotely representative then the schism in American politics is most likely beyond retrieval.
You have to worry that there will be some sort of civil war or, if the voting demographics in the Georgia runoff are repeated nationally, a race war.

"And we fight. And we fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you are not going to have a country any more. Our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement. for our children, and for our beloved country. And I say this despite all that has happened. The best...is yet...to come.

So We're going to...we're going to...walk down Pennsylvania avenue (I love Pennsylvania avenue), and we're going to the capitol. And we're going to try and give...The democrats are hopeless they are never voting for anything. Not even one vote. But we're going to try and give our republicans...the weak ones because the strong ones don't need any of our help..we're going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness they need to take back our country. So, let's walk down Pennsylvania avenue. I want to thank you all. God bless you, and god bless America. Thank you all for being here, this is incredible. Thank you very much"

What Trump said at the rally yesterday prior to the chaos that happened after
