Yeah, Maddo would just end up getting binned. I’d expect a few lighthearted jibes in the studio about the situation in general.. but nothing more than that.

The phone in afterwards might be interesting if enough people bring it up..

I need my weekly fix of BORO, but in the circumstances, I’d support a strike by BBC Tees Sport today. It feels as if a stand needs to be made swiftly to push through freedom of expression.
 
This might be a complete misread of the situation, but the BBC seemed to have only considered the political implications of Lineker's tweet and probably (strongly advised by the gvt) though lines would be drawn along "culture wars" with his sacking. What they have completely misunderstood is the respect Lineker has within the game (and the wider country) - there's probably a few agnostic individuals/clubs getting involved just because it's Lineker and they respect him.

They literally couldn't have dealt with this any worse if they'd tried.
