I wonder if any more Tory MP's will have the courage to admit

Funny enough I made what I thought was a legitimate comment about how bulletproof tories are at the moment and someone, in this instance zorro and laughing, just jump on my and get all personal.

I like the way I get the blame for that. Maybe the blame should be with the people who won’t discuss issues and make things personal?
I am not blaming anybody in particular ST. Just pointing out that threads, particularly political ones, always seem to go off track, and you always seem to be either the target or the shooter. I have seen you get some stick and I have seen you give some stick. A case of give and take I suppose. but whatever it is, it always seem to hijack threads of interest (or not) on politics on this board. Once I see you, and others, dishing out stick to each other, whether you call it it abuse or not, turns me away from the thread. You are all as bad as each other.

Fair enough. I’m trying a different tack with my bullies. Trying to reach out to them to sort things out personally and away from the board. First attempt was a failure though as it turns out the guy is just a troll, not interested in a discussion. Just wants to play to the crowd.
The reason I replied to this one is because the person being personal shocked me. I expected better from zorro

Is this the right room for an argument?
Oh, yes, here you are small town.

Dont feed him. He will die without attention.

I mena, I almost agree with you. People stop the personal attacks on me and I'll stop having to defend myself. Lets see if you can do it

A £750K pension pot is pretty big. Taken as a SIPP, that would be a very tidy sum for most people. Remember that in retirement, you have much lower outgoings, with the mortgage paid off and the kids gone etc.

£750K taken as an annuity is not so great (probably) but most people do have pension freedom these days, however hard it is to get the money released.
My point was for a £35K gross pension you needed a lump sum of about £750K, and that amount even allowing for growth was not put in by the contributions of both employer and employee. Hence the defined benefit schemes were dropped by many companies as they were simply unaffordable.
Having to join a scheme if working at 18 gives the youth of today the ability to ensure they are well funded in retirement, as it is something where the government wants to see its liability reduced.
