Industry on Teesside...

Look at the state of the push for electric cars. The infrastructure just isn't ready for it. Electric car deals whether it be lease or PCP and ridiculously high for bang average cars. Then you have to factor in the cost of a charger and the extra from electricity unless you can get a good EV deal but even then your electric is only cheap at night. I know at least 3 people who went electric who are either going back full petrol or hybrid as a compromise because they are sick of having to plan in a charge stop for longer journey's.
Now you've done it! Cue yet another endless EV vs ICE thread.

I suspect this is a lie.
Why is that? Because you're pro-EV and everybody else is wrong? Have a look at the lease websites and compare the price of electric to ICE, ICE is a lot cheaper for a lot nicer car. Thats without having to factor everything else into it. Compare a 50k EV to a 50K ICE car and I know what i'd be picking. The government are not backing it as much as they said they would (shock).

I should of also mentioned the extra cost in my original comment sorry...

As the statement does not sit well with your EV policy. You suspect it to be a lie. Give it a rest.
No, it's a statement based on other people stating that too and when I have drilled down it turns out to have benefits people just moaning or "considering" but no action being taken. There are so many lies and negative spin articles when it comes to EV I immediately assume anything attacking them is false until proven otherwise.

No, see my point above and we've had the TCO discussion before. Ignoring it won't help. I suggest you go and look for them

I'm considering my next car going back to ICE. Not because I don't like my EV, I really do, but I am not sure the deals/incentives are still going to be there when my lease is up and I can't afford to pay full price for a top EV (or a new car in general) so if I'm looking at buying a car instead I'm going to be limited by the 2nd hand market where ICE is easier/cheaper to find.

Hopefully I can get another lease on a good EV but I'll have to wait and see. I know the BIK rates are climbing but still low so hopefully the rates are low enough to make it feasible.

That's fair enough. The incentives are getting less and quite rightly so. We can't expect EV to be subsidised for ever and when they eventually become just cars then we'll need to tax them accordingly. Hopefully the burgeoning second hand market and companies finally tooling up for ev and able to drop prices will help. And hopefully we won't have people thinking that EV cost 50k...

If EVs were as cost-effective, convenient and reliable as they are made out to be then every company fleet in the country would be using them by now.
That's happening. It is a surprise isn't it? You'd think they would have been on top of the massive savings

I've always wondered if wind turbines could affect the climate by reducing the natural flow of wind around the planet. Just a thought.

By some of the ones kids use on the beach and then fart on them… see if it wafts around the room more….you will have your scientific answer
