After blatter how did FIFA appoint another cretin like this one.

"a pity" if they had to impose a broadcast blackout in Europe's top five football nations for this year's Women's World Cup.“

Would be over the moon

The viewing figures will be poor, especially with the likely kick off times, so it’s not surprising they aren’t offering big numbers for the games. While the quality isn’t great I didn’t mind watching England in the women’s euros as it was on at decent times, though i didn’t watch any games that didn’t involve England. No way I’d have any interest in any of the games being broadcast at that time. I expect many others will be thinking like me.

Here’s the times. Better than I thought actually but still a few early games among them.

Still bad times though, especially for the weekday games. Very few will get up for the 2 am and 3:30 am games and the 8, 10:30 and 11 games will be missed by anyone with daytime jobs.

Why should broadcasters stump up more money than the likely viewing figures will justify?

Not sure I'm buying infantino's "I'm all about the equality" act here.

If FIFA want to award equal money for international tournaments it's surely within its gift to do so.

Although women's footy is increasingly popular I'm not sure how many are going to be getting up in the early hours or taking time off work to watch it. They'll be raking in enough from other markets anyway won't they? Blackmail is never a good look and it'd be cutting their nose off to spite their face to not allow some countries in Europe to show it if they don't cave in to the demands. They're trying to grow the game aren't they?

Anyway pretty clear it's a negotiating tactic and a compromise will be reached. He's a bellend though.

FIFA do come across as acting like the Mafia of the football world, whilst it would be a shame for the lionesses and their European compatriots to not be screened live by broadcasters, I think its hardly going to upset the good folk of Europe, removing our opportunity to view. If only there was something called the internet, or an invention that lets you pretend you are resident in another country to watch local tv…… ah well.

I like women's euros and world Cup in general as its easier to predict than men's football is very profitable in betting terms

It's more the next generation of girls won't go through loop holes to watch football. I hope they show the England games in schools

You are wrong - he's a greedy bellend.

I agree, they (FIFA) care about money and less about the effect on the future of the women’s game. They have a product for sale and will strive to increase revenue streams above the good of the game.
