Yes just the usual opportunistic agent trying to broker a last minute deal for his client.

I think Lath's agent is just a typical Italian Agent, I don't think he's iffy...it's just how they do things in Italy.

Yeah, used us. It's Chelsea and ELL who have been played (if this is actually what happened, of course).

That’s how it works. Clubs have multiple targets, probably ranked in order. It would be crazy to only look at 1 at a time.

We wanted a left back last season. Presumably Giles was ranked 1. We didn’t get him. We also tried to get Borges. Didn’t happen. So we moved on.

I’m sure Giles was ranked 1 again this season. Hull were giving us mixed signals so we moved for Borges again. Had Hull offered Giles to us the day before Borges signed we would probably have gone for it and not signed Borges. I don’t think that would have been us “playing” Clermont, just us being unsure about our other target.

Same situation here with ELL and Broja almost certainly.

Ipswich have played themselves imo. £100m spent over 3 months and still scrambling around for a striker less than 3hrs before the deadline closes. They’re out on a limb. They’ll be back in the Championship this time year and it’ll all be back to normal.
