Is today Boxing Day?

Only in 1971 when December 26th fell on a Sunday, the 27th was Boxing Day. They called December 26th Christmas Sunday.

Yes today is 'Boxing Day' ...by royal proclamation its transferred to the 27th should the 26th fall on a Sunday.

Happy Boxing Day. Actually I think officially yesterday was Boxing Day and today is just a bank holiday. Back in 1971 the Sunday shopping laws prevented the 26th being called Boxing Day as BOXING day is known as a shopping day.

My calendar says today is a holiday in lieu of Christmas and tomorrow is a holiday in lieu of Boxing Day.
