ITV confirmation Number Ten partied whilst the rest of us locked down.

I’m sure they are many on this board who had Christmas drinks with work colleagues.
Anyone?

Not me, I saw my daughter for a few hours on Christmas Day, no one else. It was the height of the pandemic I felt nervous about the little social contact that I did have (meeting friends on walks and my daughter as mentioned) my company had and has as many WFH as possible. So I think that the vast majority on this board will NOT have had "Christmas drinks" with anyone.

I’m sure they are many on this board who had Christmas drinks with work colleagues. It doesn’t excuse the conservatives doing what they did but save me the faux outrage and double standards.

But you thought you'd use the excuse anyway.

I wonder where you get your data from to suggest the majority were breaking the rules but my experience was very different. Even if that was the case then two wrongs don't make a right and I expect our prime minister to be held to a higher standard than Tommy from Grangetown.

Again, this will just be denied until the next sleazy allegation comes along. 20 years ago, i honestly think this would have caused a scandal big enough to bring the government down and trigger a GE.
This is the norm, now; not the exception. I am not shocked at all. I genuinely think is is just true to form.

These parasites have proven time, time and again, that they do not give a flying fu.ck about the majority of people in this country.
The posh in-bread tw.at at the top even had his life saved by the NHS and this is his way of showing just how much he appreciates their effort: by having pis.s up while we're all missing our families over christmas.

but they will be voted in again. by working class people. who just gobble this all up. they are taking the pi.ss and do not even try to hide it. and the gammons just keep on taking it.
It would really help if you and people like you stop calling people who dont agree with you names like “ gammon “ and continually calling them thick or uneducated , it alienates them from any argument you put forward .

Contributing to political threads in the past never seemed to phase you.

I wonder what the real reason is why you don't anymore 🤔
I think, even fatact know how abhorrent the Tory party is at the moment.

how won’t acknowledge it of course and he’ll still vote for them but he’s realised he needs to lay low or, in this case, use the classic “everyone does it” deflection.

My wife and I cancelled our christmas celebrations too. I am pretty certain those that ignored the rules are a minority.

I didn’t have any works drinks or drinks with friends at all. And spent Christmas Day consoling an upset other half behind a mountain of food that we had ordered to host her family. That of course we had to cancel. I imagine most people have similar stories. And those are just us lucky enough not to have lost people last year to Covid whilst the Tory party illegally partied

I get a bit perplexed by the title of the thread “whilst the rest of us locked down” let’s be honest there are two types of people in this world those that follow the rules and those that don’t - and let’s not pretend it’s the minority that don’t. I’m sure they are many on this board who had Christmas drinks with work colleagues. It doesn’t excuse the conservatives doing what they did but save me the faux outrage and double standards.
Fatcat. It is quite obvious you are a city worker and Im sure you weren't the only office in the square mile that had Christmas drinks in the office.

Your mistake though is to try and compare this to the rest of the country who dont work in a city office and who were taking the lead from instructions from people who are charged to set an example. The fact that you are unable to see the difference between your little drinkies by the photocopier and those in charge of policies and law to get us through the health crisis having a bash is reflective of a blind political bias.

Faux outrage? People upset after having being denied Christmas with lost loved ones is not faux. That was a pretty terrible thing to say.

Yeah, fatcat, like many extreme Tories. Seems to be completely out of touch with the mood of the nation.
He thinks it’s “faux” outrage when in actual reality the rest of the nation is genuinely appalled and disgusted at what went on here. He just can’t see that from behind the blue rosettes

No works drinks for me.

Normally have family around for Xmas, not last year.

Visited mum (as I was her carer) and we video called the rest of the family (turns out it was Mums last Xmas and I only saw her once in the last 6 weeks of her life due to covid restrictions)

So it’s not faux outrage about a party, it’s total outrage at the lying and total incompetence of this shower in government.

Nope same here no Xmas drinks at all.

def no xmas parties

Yeah people who had to spend Christmas on their own last year having spent much of the previous few months also completely and utterly alone would be pretty ***ed. I mean I'm not the most empathetic person around, but you really don't have to extend yourself too much. faux outrage.

All I’m saying is it’s hypocritical to get so offended by this if you were in the half of the country who was doing the same thing ignoring the rules and there are many of these people about ( I wasn’t disregarding the rules))

Faux outrage!

What a shameful thing to say, but typical from a Tory.

Can you lot not read - let me make it clear - I didn’t have drinks and wouldn’t - I’m saying there were people on this board saying I’ll do what I like at Christmas and stuff everyone else. Those people - how can they be offended by the gvt when they are no better themselves?

My wife and I cancelled our christmas celebrations too. I am pretty certain those that ignored the rules are a minority.
Laughing you were my example - you were happily stating you would break the rules and see your family and then a few days later came on here saying how your daughter had caught covid!!!!! Am I mistaken?
