Only problem for me so far is Rice looked a bit dodgy playing it around our box. Glad Henderson is coming on.
Might not have scored the winner. But he was excellentI can see this being a 'Sterling v Croatia egg on face moment' - log back on FMTTM at 10pm tonight after watching Saka score the winner.
Definetly man of the match!Might not have scored the winner. But he was excellent
I’m hoping the fact Grealish was hooked early is a decent indication he’s in the plans for the first KO game. He is much better than Mount offensively, that’s not even up for debate.
It also sounds like Mount may miss the KO game because of the covid protocols anyways, which may make Southgate’s decision a lot easier.

Clearly we're planning to unleash him.... on Germany!I know fans don't have the full details and never can, but unless an injury is the case why even have Sancho in the squad. I'm sure I heard Gary Linekar state last night that German media have stated England must have outstanding players if Sancho hasn't played any minutes yet.
Good stuff
I do feel he’s been built up massively by the media and the public and if he doesn’t look like a superstar or England don’t look vastly improved with him on, some are going to be underwhelmed.
I think he’s a very good player though and hope he has a great game. We know the public and media like to knock folk down after a build up.
I mean , Harry Kane is suddenly being spoken about like he’s rubbish because he hasn’t scored in 2 games. I wonder if the French are wanting to drop Benzema and Mbappe because they haven’t scored either.
Mount Henderson and Grealish would be my midfieldyeah. I do like mount but if we’re playing 2 holding midfielders, as we have been, then
the 3rd midfielder needs to be someone that really makes things happen and for me, Grealish is the better option.
well that’s assuming the formation stays the same against the better sides...
Mount Henderson and Grealish would be my midfield
Good point but the only way I could see Grealish, Foden, Saka Sterling and Mount in the teamProblem with having Mount alongside Henderson is it would restrict Henderson, as he would have to play as a sitter. As we saw last night, having Phillips alongside Henderson meant Henderson had the freedom to get forward and support the attacks and I thought he did well, particularly when he made those overlapping runs down the right side. He also nearly set Kane up for a goal with a lovely chipped pass.

Thought saka was superb though, as I said above very good player and totally underrated.
Me too!! Foden and Sterling on the wings!Mount Henderson and Grealish would be my midfield
Henderson the box to box midfielder who has never scored for England?Yeah, I guess it boils down to which player would give us more in an attacking sense........Henderson playing box-to-box, or Mount as a playmaker. I'd prefer Phillips in the sitting role ahead of Henderson because of his passing ability to be honest.

We most certainly didn't move the ball about quicker in the second half. Not remotely. He only scored 4 goals for Liverpool during their title winning season, only 1 goal the season before but he was still such an important cog in the wheel.
He brings drive, energy, leadership, a great range of passing and his movement off the ball is excellent. You're always going to be able to move the ball about quicker when you have a player like Henderson who is always looking to make runs off the ball, rather than a player who just stands showing for the ball.
