Jamie Carragher

How the f*** was this classless pleb allowed his cushy TV job back? What he did was ten times (if not more) worse than anything Keys and Gray ever did or said. What a brass neck to still be happy to appear on there as if nothing ever happened, too. Clearly has no shame whatsoever.

I can't remember exactly what happened with Keys & Gray, was it something in bad taste, anyway what Carragher done was dispicable & shouldn't have been allowed back on our screens, but he played for Liverpool

If your talking about the spitting incident, I can’t condone it, but from what I remember it looked like someone tried to deliberately wind him up when he was driving his car. And he had enough of their “bAnter” and retailiated. Like I say can’t condone it but in this “social media” age when everyone has a smart phone ....

I understand the point you're making but I don't think a couple of bips on the horn and shouting "2-1 Jamie lad!" warrants being showered with a mouthful of the dirty get's spit. The guy wasn't exactly giving him abuse, just trying to have a harmless laugh, as annoying as he might have been in doing so.

Wasn’t this some years ago? He returned in 2018 to punditry. Strange to harbour the comments until now?

Keys and Gray are complete tossers as well. None should be back

Keys and Gray were sacked for numerous sexist/misogynistic remarks on and off camera mate, I believe. Basically stuck in the dark ages.

Not that strange really is it, it's just something I often think whenever I see/hear him on Sky and wanted to read some peoples' views about it on here.

Im not arguing with your sentiments (I agree with them) - its just that from reading your opening comments you would have thought Carragher had just been reinstated this week. Hes been back on our screens for 2 years - irritating the hell out of us.

I completely agree with you Scubs, you are not alone with those feelings.

Spitting at/ on someone is the lowest of the low. Was he getting jip from a fan? I’m sure he was, but come on, to retaliate by spitting on them is an appalling overreaction.

Fair enough, sometimes it's hard to judge through text!

Jip of the most innocuous kind mate, a guy bipping his horn and shouting 2-1 to Carragher, which should basically have been laughed off or ignored.

I like him and was very disappointed when the incident happened but we all make mistakes. He apologised and does a lot of good work for charity etc and I think he’s actually became a better and more balanced pundit since the incident. Anything else happens and he’s obviously sacked but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for his moment of madness I don’t think he’s all that bad and enjoy his banter with Neville.

Agree overall. The long pauses between sentences when he’s talking annoy me a little, but he’s ok.

As for whether what he did was worse than Keys/Gray, they were both pretty bad, but I think Keys/Gray had gone a bit stale and Sky fancied a change.

I guess you’ve never done something in haste you later regretted

I agree with Block.

What Carra done was a disgrace and should never be condoned.

However him and Neville are by far and away SkySports best pundits and analysts. They also have an abundance of experience at playing at the top level for the big clubs and what it takes to win the big trophies. Their insight is fascinating and I for one am always interested to hear their views and opinions on current situations.

As for Keys and Gray, they were two old men who were as clueless as anyone in the game. Sky used their remarks as an excuse to get rid of them and Sky haven't looked back.

I think the thing we mortals don’t realise is that famous people don’t have anonymity. Wasn’t Carragher followed by a nob head driver who recognised him and was trying to wind him up because of who he was?

I know whenever I’ve encountered anyone slightly famous, I’ve either just nodded said hello, or if they don’t make eye contact, once you’ve realised who they are, just left them alone - they are just a person trying to do normal things. I can’t condone the spitting but I do remember at the time I thought he was provoked.

He’s alright.
Him and Gary Neville at least offer some insight. And the Liverpool/united banter is quite funny on Twitter.
Personally I can’t stand Jamie bloody redknapp. Employed on the basis in the 00s he married a pop star and him and Louise were the poor mans posh and becks.
Not the point really.
