Jeff Bezos resigns as Amazon CEO

Obviously off to focus on his space project. Nothing much left to achieve with Amazon, they've got the shopping game locked down.

He was asked a question not long back about would he run for president, I thought he’d laugh it off but he didn’t deny and the it was the end of the interview so nothing else got said . You never know but I think he’s got so much to do with his space company and other things .

ripped me twice with signing me up for prime when I didn’t sign up for prime. First time was £21 before I noticed, second time £14 .
yeah I got the money back, but it certainly wasnt refunded as quick as they said it would .

just a legal con.
id never use them again

You may not have noticed you signed up for it, but you will have. It’s usually offered as a way to get free postage. Amazon didn’t get where they are today by fraudulently signing people up to it.

Taking too much ‘cut’ for just being the middle man in my opinion. Personally I like to see companies actually make something for their profits.

You obviously don't understand what the "cloud services" mentioned in that post refer to.

Andy Jassy, the guy who is taking over from him, is the current head of AWS, one of the leading cloud companies in the world. All the services provided on through this cloud infrastructure were "made" by Amazon engineers who continue to innovate with new products that power many of the worlds largest businesses.

Furthermore who do you think "makes" some of the content shown on Amazon Prime video, who "made" the worlds largest e-commerce website and associated infrastructure to enable them to sell products in the first place.

Are you advocating that all service providers who don't make a physical takeaway products should "make something for their profits" ?

Yes I’m a bit old fashioned in that I think primary and secondary industries create the real wealth.

I was aware Amazon dabbled in all this IT infrastructure stuff but I think the importance of that is a bit overblown in society generally.

But if you are happy with the ridiculous amount he has extracted out of the system from starting as an online book shop then you will just have to live with that.

Acknowledged, he has still taken too much out of the system for what he has contributed to the world and that’s my main point.
Bit sure I agree with that. AWS power a lot of stuff, I have done training through it. And streaming services are important these days so Prime is as significant as Netflix on its own
