Another world class footballer, as a 13 year old watching the 1974 Holland team I was mesmerised by the talent of this superstar, his movement, his skill, his vision, I instantly took to Holland & watched them throughout the tournament & devestated when they lost the world Cup final to West Germany & again in 1978

I was orivalidged to go on tour of Ajax stadium where I met Boro legend Heine Otto

Heine like Cruyff had a major heart scare and needed lengthy open heart surgery to survive. That was several years ago now so was thankfully successful.
 
Without a doubt one of the greatest players of all time. People often talk about Pele and Maradona, or Ronaldo and Messi; Cruyff, IMHO, should be included in the same debate.
 
I'm too young to have seen him play live but my grandad worshipped him, as a footballing talent and as man. He said he believed he was better all round player than Pele or Maradonna
